He's Back

"I'll get them to school. You need rest." he said, leading her to their room.

"Fine, fine. I'll listen, only because I have a headache." she nodded.

"Good." he said as he made sure not to wake up the kids and turned back to the covers for ellie

She went into the bed. "There's more than enough room if you want to lay down for a bit."

"I'm up now." he shook his head. "I'll work on putting my stuff back."

She nodded a bit. "...and you're sure you want to stay right? Not just because I was crying?"

He nodded and leaned in to kiss the top of her head. "I'm positive."

"Okay then." she nodded...she felt like it was awkward or something. "I'll nap now.''

"Don't nap, sleep." he chuckled a little.

"...fine." she said. "I'll sleep."

"Good." he chuckled a little, kissing her softly. "I'll see you in a few hours.

"You sure will." she nodded and just got comfortable. "...good luck with Maddie and Ajay in the morning."

"I think I've got it." he laughed a little and headed out.

She watched him leave and sighed a little, then finally decided to get some sleep.

A few hours later, Maddie and Ajay woke up...Ellie was sleeping and they woke her up...but she told them Colt was taking them to school, then went back to sleep. They both shrugged and figured they would be a big boy and girl today and do everything themselves. Maddie picked out her own outfit (horrible idea) and Ajay did the same, picking his favorite shirt (cause it had a cape on it) and some black jeans from his drawer. His shoes...psh, on the wrong foot, lol. Maddie did her hair...well, she just put on a headband and then they made sure to potty and brush their teeth and so on. Breakfast, well...they would need Colt for that. "...Daddy." Maddie said as she found Colt.

Scott was sleeping lightly on the couch when Maddie called for him. He looked over at Maddie after he woke up and rubbed his eyes, seeing them all dressed, lol. "Hey guys." he looked down at Ajay's feet and could immediately tell they were on the wrong feet, so he fixed them for him. "All dressed I see." he laughed a little.

"Good Morning and yep, all dresses." Maddie said.

"...we need breakfast." Ajay giggled.

He looked over at the clock. They had time. "What'd you wanna eat? Cereal? Oatmeal?"

"Oatmeal." they both frowned. "Gross."

"Cereal." Ajay nodded.

"Cereal it is.' he chuckled a little. "Go to your table, I'll get you both some cereal with some apple juice."

"Okay." they both said as they went to the table and waited.

Scott gave them their cereal before giving them juice. "Eat up, guys." he said.

"Thank you." Maddie said as she started to eat.

"Mhm, thank you." Ajay said...and started to devour his cereal, lol.

While they ate, Scott sat and thought about how he'd make it up to Ellie... he really upset her last night over something stupid, and he was bummed out about it because again, Ellie was the queen of awkward, and he could tell that she wasn't really comfortable around him.

Maddie and Ajay just sat there quietly and ate their food until they finished. "All done." Maddie said.

"Do we have to go to school all day?" Ajay frowned.

He snapped out of his thoughts in time enough to hear Ajay. "You've been going to school all day usually, right?' he chuckled.
