It had been quite the journey for Punk over the past couple of years. He left the WWE completely and then decided that he would try MMA. It was another sport he always enjoyed watching and had a lot of friends in that business. He signed with the UFC and trained a lot, then had some fights. As much as he enjoyed trying something different, it was a lot for him and his family. He went back and forth every day to train for a few hours but then would still make sure to spend time with his family at home. Plus, he didn't like that his wife and kids saw just how beat up he felt after his sparring sessions and fights, it was a lot. Plus, his marriage was something he and Lacy worked hard at to get to a good place, so he didn't want to ruin it. Punk sat with Lacy and together they made the decision he would quit the UFC, deciding it was time for him to just chill out. That was all in the span of two years.

Since then WWE got in contact with Punk and they asked him to be the General Manager of Smackdown, which he accepted. The good thing was he only needed to appear whenever they needed him for live tapings and that was usually once or twice a month if that. He was able to be home more and enjoy semi-retirement.

Last night he was needed for a Smackdown appearance, so he flew out early in the day until showtime. He then stayed at a hotel and flew back to Chicago in the morning. Pulling into his driveway, he parked then turned off the car and stepped out. He grabbed his bag from the backseat and walked to the front door, unlocking it and letting himself in.

"I'm home! Where are my humans?" he asked, shutting and locking the door behind him.
