Uh... I Can Explain

Lacy woke up a few hours later with a cold and wet hand from where the ice had melted on it. She looked at it, the swelling had gone down but it still hurt like hell to move. She sighed and sat up to wrap her hand again with the Ace bandage before pushing the covers off of her. She looked outside through the window, it was dimmly lit outside. She looked over at the clock, it read 6:30 in the morning. Who wakes up at 6:30, hell.

She didn't need to look in a mirror to know that she looked like shit. And she didn't care.

She stepped out of the guest room and walked down the hallway quietly. She peaked her head into Phil's--their--Phil's-- shit, who's room was it anymore? She peaked her head into the master bedroom, we'll go with that, and saw Phil laying on the bed. She didn't know if he was sleeping or not, and didn't bother to stick around to find out. If he was asleep, she knew that he was a cranky bastard at ungodly times like 6:30 in the morning and she didn't feel like putting up with his shitty mood, because she wasn't in the best of spirits in the mornings, either.

She trudged down the stairs, and saw that the living room was still a mess from last night. She sighed. She'd have to buy a picture frame or something to cover up that dent in the wall. She started to clean up and hoped that she would be done before Phil woke up.

Yeah...Punk sleeping? Wasn't happening. He couldn't sleep at all, not when he knew that Lacy was all pissed at him and he wasn't even tired anyway. He usually went to bed at times like this. He heard Lacy look in the room, then heard her go downstairs. He wasn't sure if he should go down there or not, but....he needed to figure this out. After all, he was the one who made them like this...he should have never even mentioned Karla. What a dumbass. He decided to get out of bed and go downstairs, to figure this shit out. He spotted Lacy.

"Morning?"

Either she moves really slowly, or Punk "woke up" too fucking early. She paused from her cleaning, half to look at him, half to figure out if she should do what she apparently seems to do best - run away. She looked up at him and nodded a bit before going back to cleaning with her good hand.

"Uh...can we talk?"

"Go ahead," she said, still preoccupying herself with the cleaning.

"Can you stop cleaning for a minute?"

She sighed inwardly, but did as he asked. She stopped the cleaning to look at him. "Yeah?"

"Look, last night...things got way out of hand." he told her as he rubbed his hands over his face. "I should have let everything go and not push you to tell me what was going on. I just...didn't want to think about anybody else having their hands on you...well...kissing you in that case, so I got real mad about it. Karla...that was dumb decision to bring her up...I couldn't stop myself and I regret it." he sighed. "Hate me all you want, leave me again or whatever...but I...I just wanted to try and fix this to stop it from being so awkward. I'm sorry...for everything."

She looked down as he explain himself. She understood why he was upset, and she told him that. She'd be mad, too. She didn't exactly appreciate the Karla comment, but when she threatened to go get Todd and show him a good time... well, she kind of deserved it. Even so, "I'm sorry for hitting you," she said quietly, still not able to look up at him yet.

He shrugged. "I deserved it."

"The slap, I get. Even though I'm sorry for that, too." She nodded. "You didn't deserve the hits to the chest and shoulders, though," she said guiltily. "Are you even bruised up or hurt from that?"

"Eh, not really. Didn't really care about the hits or anything." he shrugged. "You were pissed and I expected you to do something like that."

She finally looked at him with an arched brow. "You expected me to hit you?"

"After that Karla comment, why wouldn't you?"

"Phil, please stop trying to justify my fuck up." She shook her head. "I was wrong. For everything."

"We were both wrong."

"It's just..." She shook her head. "I already feel like you are too good for me. You know that," she sighed. "And the thing is, I know you can have any girl you want, I know you can leave me whenever you want and for whoever you want, and when you mentioned her, I just... I don't know." She slumped her shoulders, defeated.

"I was just angry at the time and didn't mean it. I've been through so much with you and I wouldn't want to go through that with anybody else. I never ever want to let you go."

Hearing that, she nodded a bit. Part of her said, 'okay, he's really here to stay' and the other part of her said, 'oh, so he feels obligated to stay with me'. She decided to keep her mouth shut, since that's what seems to get her in trouble the most with him when they fought. Instead, she just apologized. Seems like she's been doing that a lot in the past few months.

"It's fine, it's fine, it's fine." he said. "Let's just...try to move on?"

She nodded and sighed, running her hands through her hair to get it out of her face. If he didn't see her face before, he did now, and she looked like hell. She didn't sleep much, if at all last night. Spent most of it crying.

She was hesitant to move. Did she hug him, or..? She shook her head a bit, and not knowing what to do, she went back to cleaning.

He sighed. "Just stop cleaning." he told her. "I don't know about you, but I know I didn't get any sleep last night....maybe we could go and lay down together? Try to rest a bit?"

Although the idea of sleep sounded magnificent to her right about now... "I gotta clean this up," she mumbled softly, that being a directly result of her not sleeping - she mumbled, slurred and didn't speak clearly. "I'll finish this 'n crash on the couch."

"Yeah, no." he said as he shook his head and picked her up. "You need to sleep." he said as he headed to uh...."which room do you want to stay in?"

"Phil," she whined lightly as she had no choice but to place her arms around his neck, but let her legs rest limply at his sides. He was carrying her like he would Brandon or Allison, and she was acting like Brandon and Allison with the not wanting to sleep thing. She was dead weight in his arms on purpose, although it probably wasn't a big deal to him, as he was supporting her by the backs of her thighs anyway. "You are a bully, I don't wan' sleep," she complained.
