What About Me? [Phil/Lacy]

Phil had just come back from the grocery store after he needed to get out for a bit and restock Lacy's house with some food. It had been about two weeks since they found out about Lacy losing their baby and to be honest, he was still really upset about it. Upset, not at Lacy, just upset that they both didn't know and that there was no more baby. He actually found himself excited for it until the doctor said she lost it.

He sighed as he went inside with the bags and saw Lacy on the couch.

"Hey, good afternoon." he said since he last saw her sleeping in the bed.

She turns her attention from the tv to him. "Hey. I was wondering where you were."

"Went to get a few things." he said leaning over to kiss her quickly and then headed to the kitchen to put the belongings away.

She chuckles lightly, a bit confused. "My house is full enough. Something on your mind?"

"Well I wanted to get some junk food." he chuckled. "And no, I'm fine. How are you feeling?"

"Stomach still hurts, but it's tolerable. I can wrestle in a few weeks."

"That's great." he said as he headed back to the living room and sat down.

"Yeah." she nods. "The doctor said I should stay off of birth control for a couple of months, until my body gets back to normal." she hated to talk about what happened a few weeks ago. "Since the whole thing was pretty much an unplanned abortion."

"Why are you like so...not caring about what happened?" he asked as he frowned a little.

"I do care. I just don't want kids."

"So would you have kept it, if the miscarriage didn't happen?" he asked curiously.

[going to bed now...night!]

"I don't know." she shrugged. "Probably not."

"I can't believe you."

She frowned in confusion. "What?"

"You. You don't want kids."

"No, i don't." she raised an eyebrow.

"It's just...it always has to be about you." he said.

"You don't want kids, you would want to get rid of them and all that. Well, what if I wanted kids? What if I wanted to keep them and be a great father to them? Lacy, I love you, you know that, but I've been here for the past two weeks, helping you and you didn't even once asked me how I felt about this."

"Phil." she sighs. "We haven't been together for a year. What do you want kids already for?"

"Honestly Lacy, I don't even know. I didn't want kids or anything soon, but when they told me you were pregnant, I was...happy." he said.

"It was strange but really different at the same time."

"Well." she looked down. "If you can't deal with me wanting kids, I don't know what to say."

He just nodded.

"You don't have to say anything."

"Whats that supposed to mean?"

"I didn't mean anything by it. I'll just have to get over it." he shrugged.

She looked off in thought before looking back at him. "I know it sucks, Phil. I had a kid in my body and it was pretty much ripped away from me, because I was an idiot and didn't know not to wrestle. I don't want kids." she said that last statement without remorse and a slight shrug. "But to have it taken away from me, without knowing, without even having a choice, hurts."

He listened to her and nodded.

"I can understand that. It was just that sudden happiness that I had helped in the creation of another human being and that I would be nothing like my father and be better than he was."
