Bad News [Ellie/AJ]

Ellie had been in her house for the past three days, hasn't talked to anyone and didn't even show up to the houseshow she was supposed to attend. Instead, she had been depressed around her house, not caring about anything anymore. She hadn't even talked to AJ within those three days.

She walked out of the kitchen after grabbing a water bottle, turned off all the lights again and headed back to her room, where she had been for the past three days in the darkness.

AJ had been texting and calling Ellie for the past few days. He even covered for her at the house show saying she was very sick. She'd caught "Swine Flu" and couldn't be near anyone.

So he decided to see why she really wasn't picking up. He was worried. He got to her house and rang her doorbell. "ellie! It's Allen! Open up!" he said as he banged on the door.

Ellie sighed and rolled her eyes as she sat up from her bed.

She really didn't want to see AJ, especially after the news she received from the doctor. She was damaged goods, he didn't want her, she constantly thought since her appointment.

Deciding to just get up and at least let him see that she was alive, she put on her flip flops and looked in the mirror making sure it didn't look like she had been crying. She looked like hell to say the least.

She walked to her door and put on a fake smile, even a fake cough in the process.

"Hey." she smiled.

He looked her over. "What happened?" he asked, immediately worried. "You didn't show up to work...so I told them you had Swine Flu...what happened? Why is it so dark in here?" he asked as he stepped into the house.

"Ellie...baby, talk to me." he said soflty.

"I'm fine. Just the flu, not swine flu though."

"See look, I'm good. You should go, I don't want you getting sick." she said as she "coughed".

"I got my flu shot...you're not getting rid of me...especially after not talking to me in three days." he said firmly.

"Are you mad at me or something?"

"No, I'm not mad. I just didn't want you coming over here, especially since I'm sick." she said coughing again.

"You know flu shot or not, it's not good to be here, you may still get some of it." she said trying to get him to leave.

He frowned. "Ellie...please talk to me. I've missed you." he said softly.

"I am talking to you." she states.

"Ellie, what is going on? You've never been this way with me. You know you can tell me anything." he said, gently cupping her face.

"Besides...you don't look sick...you look like you've been crying...so whose ass do I have to go kick for causing that?" he said, gently wiping at the residual tears with his thumbs.

"Allen it's nothing really." she said stepping away from him a little.

"I just don't feel good, that's all."

His face fell a bit. Why was she acting this way? "Okay...umm...my phone's always on...when you're ready to tell me what's up...call me." he said softly, a bit hurt that she was keeping something from him.

Now she felt horrible.

"Ugh, Allen..." she said biting her lip.

"Alright, I'll tell you." she nods.

"I'm going to have to anyway."

He stopped and looked at her. "Alright..." he said as they moved to the couch and sat down.

"So what's wrong?"

She sighs and runs a hand through her hair.

"Well do you know exactly what problems I had in the past?" she asked.

If he didn't know, she was going to tell him, she finally had to come clean with him.

He shook his head. "Problems? I don't understand..."

She nods.

"You see when I was with Brad, I ended up getting pregnant with his baby." she said looking at him, then looking away.

"Stacy and some guy named Nick came one night to...kind of teach Katie and I a lesson or some sort. She ended up hurting me and I lost the baby." she sighed.

"After that, I was a mess for months, drinking any type of alcohol, blaming myself, even one suicide attempt before I just decided to kind of move on from everything." she said as she felt the tears rise up in her eyes again and she wiped them away.

His jaw dropped. "Ellie...I-I'm so sorry." he said softly as he pulled her close and held her.

"But...you said you kind of moved on. So...what just happened?" he asked softly.

She was going to hate this part.

"After our Christmas getaway, I was feeling sick. So I went to the doctor to see if I was pregnant." she said looking at him.

"Oh?" he asked softly. While he wasn't necessarily ready to be a dad yet, he might actually look forward to it with Ellie.

"Are...you pregnant?"

She shook her head.

"No and I don't think I ever will be." she said as she started to cry.

Now not only was he surprised, he was a bit...saddened. And it didn't help when she started to cry.

"Hey..." he said softly, stroking her hair and kissing the top of her head.

"What are you talking about? What do you mean...never will be?" he asked in a gentle, soothing tone.

She waited a while until she was able to at least make a sentence.

"He said that because of the attack and miscarriage, there was something wrong with my fallopian tubes and that there's most likely no way I can even get pregnant." she said as she started to cry again.

He understood why she was so distraught now. That's one of the worst things a woman could ever hear.

"Ellie I'm so sorry...but...that doesn't mean you can't ever...there will always be a chance...even if it's small..." he told her softly.

"Is this why you didn't talk to me? Were you scared?"

"Allen, don't you get it?!" she asked angrily.

"I'm not good for you. What if one day down the line, you want a baby? I can't give you one." she cried.

"I've been avoiding you because I know once that day comes, you're going to leave me and go with someone else who can. I'm just damaged goods." she sobbed.
