Testing a Theory [Conner/Ashley]

"You should be...very few girls are even in my book...but I'm in everyone else's book." he smirked devilishly.

She looked over at him amused as she took another sip.

"You're very confident and cocky, I've noticed."

"Yes I am...what's your point?" he smirked.

"I don't have one, I'm just pointing it out." she shrugged.

He nodded, sipping at his drink more. "So...Ms Cougar." he started teasing. "why haven't you settled down with someone?" he asked curiously.

She groaned.

"I hate that name." she said with a chuckle.

"Actually, I don't know really. I'm not the type that wants to settle down yet, I still want to live life as best as I can. Besides, no one can really tame me down. I've done the relationship thing, but the guys always want to leave." she shrugged.

He listened and nodded. "Yeah...we're douchebags, I know." he smirked. "But hey...to each their own and whatever works for you, right on." he shrugged.

"Thanks." she chuckled.

"What about you?"

"Relationships never last. It's that simple." he shrugged. "I don't ever plan on settling down, having kids, all that stupid shit because it never ever works out." he said bluntly.

"I plan on staying this gorgeous hunk of man that I am, fucking whoever I want WHEN I want, and make no apologies." he said.

"That's an interesting way to put it. I don't blame you though, relationships suck." she said finishing her second drink and getting another one.

"Damn fucking right they suck." he said downing the rest of the drink and ordering his third.

She laughed.

"Well I'm glad someone agrees."

"Well...we just happen to be the only ones who know how to see how life really is...it's not some fairy tale where everyone lives happily ever after." he nodded.

"Exactly. You're not going to find your Prince Charming or Cinderella to fall in love with. It's not that simple. I just wished they stopped brainwashing kids into believing that bullshit." she said downing her drink.

"I know...in rela life there are no happy endings...marriage is a joke." he snorted.

"Oh I know. My parents divorced when I was around ten, which is when I realized how much life sucks and how much everything is a joke."

"My dad did the best thing ever...ditched my mom after he managed to knock her up a bunch...I've got one sister and six brothers." he chuckled.

"My dad was the intelligent one out of the bunch." he said softly, sipping his drink, unsure of why he just shared that story.

"So you're happy about that?" she asked.

"Not really happy...just made me realize that one should always, always use condoms." he chuckled, starting to feel a slight buzz.

She laughed, feeling slightly buzzed herself.

"You are such a dork."

"Excuse me? A dork I am not...I'm suave, debonair, charming, sexy as hell...you my friend are the dork."

"I was only kidding." she laughed.

"Well now the joke's on you, huh?" he said chuckling as he continued to drink.

"Huh?" she asked confused from being tipsy now.

"Nothing...just nod and say yes." he laughed a little.
