A Much Needed Getaway

She listened to what he had to say and he was right, she was definitely in the wrong with comparing him to AJ. "Scott, you have every right to be annoyed, frustrated and upset with me when I compare you to him. Hell, you could scream at me when I do it. I don't mean to do it because I do know that you're not like him at all. Yes, sometimes I do go back to the past and expect things to happen with you, like they did with him...but enough is enough. You're a completely different and better person, I shouldn't even have to mention him anymore when I'm with you. Sometimes it honestly just slips out and I hate that I do it." she nodded. "I'm not...I'm not asking for you to forgive me or anything because honestly, I don't even forgive myself for it, but I truly and sincerely am sorry. I know that if the roles were switched and I was compared to somebody you used to be with, I would feel the same exact way you feel right now." she sighed. "You don't have to act indifferently or outdo him or anything, you're fine just the way you are. It's me that just gets so freaked out and I just over think things and I need to cut it out and stop being how I am sometimes."

He sighed. "I'm not asking you to change yourself. I just want you to be a little more mindful. It's just that... I try so hard to make you happy. And I feel like you're not allowing yourself to feel that happiness because you're expecting the worst to happen. I just.. feel like it's for nothing.."

She shook her head. "You make me extremely happy and everything you've done for me has made me the happiest I've ever been. It's not for nothing. I'm going to be more mindful from now on and forget about how I've been wronged or let down in the past. That's been long gone and it needs to stay in the past. My present and my future is with you and I need to focus more on that than anything else."

He sighed and nodded. "Yeah."

She nodded a bit. "Yep." She ruined their weekend, lol. "I'm just gonna...go shower and sleep." she nodded and grabbed her pajamas.

"Okay." he nodded and stripped down to his boxers, getting under the covers.

She went to shower and took her time, she was in no rush, lol. She did feel really bad and wanted to make it up to him, but Ellie had no idea how. She would have to think about it for a while and come up with something. After her shower was finished, she changed into her pajamas and headed to bed, getting under the covers as well.

He glanced over at her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her back to his chest. He kissed her neck. "I love you."

"I love you too." she sighed a little as she ran her hand through his hair lightly.

"I don't want you beating yourself up over this." he told her. "Okay?"

"Easier said than done. I feel horrible." she said as she shook her head. "If there was an award for worst girlfriend of the year, I'd win it."

"Worst girlfriend, best fiance." He kissed her neck. "You wouldn't have known if I didn't tell you. It's water under the bridge."

She nodded. "I just hate making you feel bad or upset, you're too good to me." she told him. "I'll try not to beat myself up over it." she nodded.

"Good." he nodded. "Now, I know you're tired, but you haven't eating. Last I checked, that wasn't very good for the baby."

"Your baby makes me puke everytime I eat." she pouted.

"So now it's my baby?" he asked amused and ran his hands over her stomach.

"Mhm." she smirked. "It's being mean to me...and since you're always so mean to me..." she chuckled. "You probably passed on the meanness."

"I am the friendliest guy you know." he laughed a little.

"Well then this baby better be super friendly to me.''

"Or else?" he asked, amused.

"...I didn't get that far, but I'll think of something.' she nodded.

"Or else you will love our beautiful red headed baby just the same." he chuckled.

"That works." she chuckled. "D'aw, I hope the baby does have red hair."

"Me too, a little bit." he chuckled.

"And why is that?" she chuckled.
