Sibling Time

It had been a while since Ellie saw her family. She heard that Jeff was in town wrestling and invited him to stay with her if he wanted and it would be great to catch up. Since she had moved to Chicago after the divorce, she still didn't really know anybody around so she had nobody to talk to. Plus, she was kind of to herself about the divorce, trying to stay positive for Maddie and Ajay. She was watching tv in the living room while Ajay and Maddie napped, waiting for Jeff.

Jeff finally made it to Ellie's new place and knocked on her door. He felt horrible for not being able to be there for her sooner after the divorce, but if she needed anything, she had him at least.

Hearing the knock on the door, she stood up from the couch and went to open the door. "Jeff." she smiled, letting him in.

"Hey." he smiled, going inside more. "How are you?"

"I'm good." she nodded as she closed the door behind her. "Find you way easy out here?"

"Easy enough...so how you holding up?"

"I'm doing okay." she shrugged. "Just getting into the swing of things."

He nodded. "Wanna talk about it?"

"We can." she said as she went back to the couch. "Have a seat." she chuckled.

He nodded, sitting on her couch.

"Uh well...it was just the scheduling and all that." she said. "After a while I just couldn't do it anymore and I know it's not his fault, but I just couldn't stand seeing Maddie and Ajay so sad whenever he couldn't make it home and such."

He listened and nodded. "So...you guys are on okay terms at least? I mean...how did he handle it? Was it one of those...you guys were both thinking it and you just said it first or was it a surprise for him?"

"We're on okay terms." she nodded. "And I think he kind of knew. I mean...I don't know...we went to Vegas for our anniversary and I just felt like there wasn't really a spark there anymore either...and I think he felt that way too. We still do care for each other and we're going to be there for the kids and all. In the past we had the same type of problems, so when I sat him down again...he already knew where I was going with it."

"Well at least you guys are both on the same page...but...I know it might be too soon to ask...do you think you guys would want to try and work things out later?"

"Honestly, right now....I don't think so. I just don't want to go back and feel that way again, you know? I'll always love AJ, we went through a lot together...we have a lot of memories, it's not like I'll get rid of him completely. Even if I wanted to, I can't because we have the kids." she chuckled a bit. "I could just never hate him, that's not how I am.'

He nodded. "And honestly...maybe it was just too soon for you guys to have gotten married and stuff...it was awfully fast." he pointed out. "I never wanted you to go through this." he said gently. "But you know what? I think this break might be good for you guys...I kind of always felt like wrestling was AJ's real love...if that makes any sense." he chuckled. "But who knows? Maybe after a little bit of time you two can work it out...I just want you and my neice and nephew to be happy."

She nodded a bit. "Well, he does love his wrestling." she chuckled. "But I know he loves his kids too and being champion...he is away a lot, so like I said...I don't blame him for that. I think now that we're divorced, it'll be good...we can just...enjoy being apart and really clearing our heads a bit. Maddie and Ajay are happy to be living in Chicago too, it's new for them and we've got Lacy, Punk and their kids around...so they have other people to play with."

"True...but now they're away from Uncle JEff and very pregnant Aunt Candice...oh! We have some news on that front."

"Share away."

"You sure? This was supposed to be about you..." he said, feeling a bit bad.

"Jeff, don't be silly...I'm positive. Tell meeeee..."

"Alright...so...the reason Candice looks SUPER pregnant is...we're having twins." he grinned like an idiot.

"Oh my gosh Jeff." she smiled. "Congrats." she told him. "Do you know what they are yet?"

"Thanks." he smiled. "And no, not yet."

"Aw, well I'm happy for you guys."
