Family Reunion

"Gramma! Guess what?" Brandon asked Phil's mom. "Mommy comes home today."

"Does she?" Mary asked amused as she started to make a salad. Of course she knew Lacy came home today.

"Yeah!" Allison joined in. "She leave for years." Two weeks.

"She has not been gone for years." Mary snorted. She heard a car pull up in the driveway. "I think that's your daddy, just in time for dinner." Always around the food, dat Punk.

"And mommy?" Brandon asked hopefully.

"Mommy is driving from the airport. She'll be here, too."

Punk was coming in after being away for the past two days. He asked his mother to stay at his place and watch the kids, since Lacy was away. He grabbed his stuff and headed inside. "I'm home." he said as he shut the door behind him.

"Kitchen," Mary called, still making the salad.

"Daddy!" Allison grinned and ran out to greet him, Brandon following her.

"Hey you two." he smiled as he hugged them and kissed both of their cheeks. "I missed you."

"I miss you too daddy." Brandon grinned as he hugged him back.

"Where mommy?" Allison asked.

"I'm right here," Lacy said as she walked into the house, pulling her bags behind her. Promptly tackled by two toddlers. lol.

"You just had to steal my thunder." he joked.

"Yes, I did." Lacy chuckled and kissed the top of her kid's heads. "Aw, I missed you two."

"You can't go 'way no more." Ally shook her head.

"I won't." Lacy laughed a bit. "But you got to spend time with daddy."

"Yeah!" Brandon cheered.

She shook her head. "Go see your grandma, I've gotta talk to daddy," she said as they ran off. Lacy looked up to Phil before standing to her full height with a small smile. "What? No hug?" She asked teasingly.

"I mean...I guess." he joked as he walked up to her and kissed her. "Like Ally said, you can't go away no more." he chuckled.

She laughed and kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug. "So you missed me?"

"Uh...yes." he chuckled. "It's weird not having you around." he said as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I guess it's a good thing that I missed you too." She laughed a little. "It was weird not having me around or it was hard not having someone to tame your wild offspring?" She asked jokingly.

"I can handle the kids." he smirked. "It was just weird not having you here."

"Mmmhm." She said teasingly. "Sure, Jack."

"Phil!" Mary called from the kitchen.

"Oooooo..." Lacy said teasingly.

"Shut up." he chuckled. "Get settled and all that, dinner should be done soon." he said before going to the kitchen where his mom was. "Yes?"

Lacy nodded and went upstairs.

"You've been here for 20 minutes and you still haven't said hello to me. I gave birth to you." Mary smirked, finishing up the salad.

He shook his head and chuckled. "Hi mom."

"Hi, son." Mary shook her head and washed her hands before drying them off. "I saw you kiss your wife out there, but you can't give your poor old mom a hug."

"Don't get jealous." he joked as he gave his mom a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"That's exactly what it is." Mary chuckled, hugging him back before pulling back to look at him. "There's something I've got to tell you, honey."

"Oh and what is that mother?" he asked with a chuckle.

"Your father called."

He rolled his eyes a little. "What did he want?"

"To see you." Mary sighed. "I didn't say yes, but I didn't say no either. I can't make those decisions for you, but he said he was going to come over. You know how he gets when he's determined."

"Ugh, why do you even answer when he calls?" he frowned.

"Because I'm just too damned nice for my own good." Mary chuckled a little and patted his shoulder. "You'll be fine. Dinner should be ready soon, I made your favorite. Why don't you go put your things upstairs and go see how your wife is? Must be tired."
