Celebrating Their Birthdays

"Sure." Jake said.

"No they're not." Kayla said as Katie put her down.

She walked off as Katie watched her then saw a crab and grabbed it. Kayla smiled and touched it's claw then frowned and started screaming when it pinched her finger.

Randy started helping Jake with his sandcastle.

"What do you wanna put on your sandcastle?"

Madison pointed at Kayla and pouted.

"Boo boo."

"Aw Kayla, come here." Ellie said.

"I don't know." Jake said.

Kayla got the crab off her finger then ran over to Katie and Ellie.

"Aw honey it's okay." Katie said as she picked her up.

Kayla started crying.

Katie kissed Kayla's finger then held her tightly and rubbed her back.

"We'll figure it out." he shrugged as he helped Jake make it.

"Poor baby." she pouted. "Wanna come with me and Maddie to swim, it'll make you feel better." she told her.

Jake looked at the sandcastles then kicked them.

Kayla nodded.

"Okay." Kayla said.

Randy looked at Jake.

"What was that for?"

Ellie smiled as she took Kayla from Katie and walked with both, Madison and Kayla to the water.

"You'll feel so much better." she told her as she took off her cover up dress and went in the water with both of them.

Jake shrugged.

"I didn't feel like building them anymore." Jake said.

Kayla got into the water then splashed Ellie.

"Wanna go swim with Kayla and Madison?" he suggested.

Ellie chuckled as Madison splashed some water as well.

"Sure." Jake said as he got up.

Kayla splashed some water at Madison.

Randy nodded as he walked over with Jake to where all the girls were.

"Mind if we join you?"

"Swim!" Maddie giggled.

"No, we don't." Ellie chuckled. "Hi Jake."

Jake climbed onto a boulder and then did a cannonball into the water.

Kayla laughed as she watched Jake then splashed Ellie again.

"I think he's going to give me a heart attack." Randy said as he went by Jake. "That was cool Jake."

Ellie shook her head in amusement.

"Do you find it funny to splash me?" she asked Kayla.

"Want me to do it again?" Jake asked with a grin.

"Yep." Kayla said with a chuckle.

"Sure, but please...be careful." he told him.

Ellie splashed her back as Madison giggled.

"Mommy no!" she grinned as she hugged Kayla.

"Okay." Jake said as he climbed on top of a taller boulder then the last one.

Kayla smiled.

"Yeah, no Auntie Ellie." Kayla said with a giggle.

"Jump from the same one you jumped off, not that one."

"No fair, the two of you are ganging up on me." she fake pouted.

Jake looked at Randy.

"Nah." Jake said.

"So?" Kayla asked.

"Jake. That's too high."

"Oh you are mean." she chuckled.

"It's not." Jake said before he ran and did a cannonball into the water.

"Sorry." Kayla said before she hugged Ellie's leg and smiled at her.

He chuckled. "So you don't like me very much. You like your mother more?"

"It's okay." she said kissing her cheek.

"Why do you say that?" Jake asked.

"I want cake." Kayla said.

"You never listen to me." he said.

"Okay, let's go back to your mom then." she said as she picked up Madison and Kayla, heading back towards Katie.

"I did once." Jake said.

"Once." he told him.

"We're back." she laughed as Madison clapped.

"And?" Jake asked.

"I want my mommy." Kayla said.

Katie chuckled as she took Kayla.

"Welcome back." Katie said.
