Celebrating Their Birthdays

Ellie looked around for Katie, since she was there early. Today, they were doing a joint birthday for Kayla and Madison, who were turning one years old. Finding Katie by the table where all the presents and food were, she walked over to her and smiled.

"Sorry I'm late, Miss Madison was giving me a struggle." she chuckled.

Katie smiled at Ellie as she moved everything around and kept an eye on Kayla and Jake as they played near the water with Randy.

"Hey and it's totally fine. I'm just setting everything up." Katie said.

She smiled at Madison.

"Hey sweetie." Katie said.

"Katie." Madison smiled.

"Need any help with anything?"

"Yeah I need some balloons to be blown up." Katie said.

Kayla walked over and smiled.

"Hi Auntie Ellie." Kayla said with a smile.

"I'll help." she said as she smiled at Kayla. "Hey Kayla. Happy Birthday." she said kissing her cheek.

"Thank you." Kayla said.

Katie smiled at Madison.

"Hey Maddie, happy birthday." Katie said.

"Hi guys," Lacy walked up with a present for Madison in a small bag as she approached them in jeans and a t-shirt.

"Thank you." Madison giggled at Katie.

"Hey Lacy." Ellie smiled. "Not getting into the water?" she chuckled.

"Layley!" Madison said pointing at her.

Katie looked over at Lacy.

"Hey." Katie said.

Kayla looked at Lacy confused.

"Who are you?" Kayla asked.

Katie looked at Kayla and chuckled.

"Sweetheart that's Lacy." Katie said.

"Probably not." She laughed lightly, smiling at her god daughter. "Hi, sweetie."

She looked over at Katie. "Hey, boss." She smiled at Kayla. "Hi, honey. I'm Lacy."

"Lacy is Madison's god mother." Ellie told her as she helped blow up some balloons.

"Layley swim?" Madison asked.

"Hi. You should jump in the water, it's fun." Kayla said with a wide smile.

"No, baby. Not today." She picked Madison up and kissed her on the cheek. "I'll go swimming with you in the pool the next time I see you, though."

Maddie pouted. "Swim." she nods.

Ellie chuckled. "Demanding."

"I don't have my bathing suit. Next time. Kay?"

"No." she pouted. "It's okay Maddie, next time. So where's Phil?" she asked Lacy.

Kayla ran over to the water then put her feet in it.

Katie looked at the presents then put them on one side of the table before she thought for a second and moved them to other side.

She shrugged, "I don't know, doing Phil-related things." She shrugged. "He's not a beach fan."

"Figures." she chuckled.

Randy looked over at Kayla as he was playing with Jake. "Wanna come play with us?"

Katie looked at Ellie.

"Where's AJ?" Katie asked.

Kayla looked up at Randy.

"Okay." Kayla said.

Jake walked over to a bunch of boulders then started climbing up them.

"He was stuck at an autograph signing. He might make it, not sure yet."

Randy grabbed Kayla, then went to get Jake off of the boulders.

"No. Stay away from those." he said bringing them back to the area they were in.

Lacy looked down at Madison. "Wanna get in the water, honey?"

Madison nodded and tugged on Lacy's arm.

Katie nodded.

"Well hopefully he gets here." Katie said.

Kayla kicked the water and giggled.

Jake glared.

"Dad you're no fun." Jake said.

She rolled up the legs of her jeans and led Madison into the water. It was too low for Lacy, but high enough for Madison to float in without drowning.
