Celebrating Their Birthdays

"You both cut it out." Katie said.

"Fine." Jake said.

"I want to go home now." Kayla said.

Allen felt like shit. By the time he finally got done with the signing and then a meeting, he knew he'd missed Maddie's and Kayla's birthday party. Rubbing over his eyes, he got into his car and called Ellie's phone to ask her what the status of the day was...or if there was any way to salvage the rest of Maddie's birthday.

"Well Uncle Matt just got here, maybe he wants to take you to drive your car for a bit or go swimming again." Randy said.

Maddie gasped. "Swim! I wanna swim!" she grinned.

"Ha Matt, looks like you have to take her swimming." Ellie chuckled as she went to answer her phone. "Hello?"

Allen smiled, hearing Ellie's voice. "Hey baby...I know I'm as late as hell, but are y'all still at the beach?" he asked softly.

"Yep, we're still here. We were getting ready to leave, but I think we're going to let Maddie swim again."

He sighed. "Alright, where should I meet you guys?"

"Kayla want to go swimming with Maddie and I?" Matt asked.

"Okay." Kayla said.

"Um, at the beach." she chuckled and then turned to Matt. "Be careful with her."

"Alright I'll be right there." he said as he made sure he had his swim trunmks and then sped off to the beach.

"Okay." she said as she hung up.

"Yeah, yeah. I've babysat enough to know how to take care of these two." Matt said as he picked Maddie and Kayla up and held them upside down in his arms.

Kayla started giggling uncontrollably.

Allen sped his way to the beach. Once he parked, he changed from his pants to his swim trunks and practically ran to where everyone was. "Hey...sorry I'm late."

Maddie giggled as well.

"Oh god Matt." Ellie said shaking her head.

Katie watched and chuckled.

"What's the problem?" Matt asked as he looked back at Ellie then set the girls down on their feet near the water.

"Having them upside down." she chuckled.

"They were giggling so they were fine, weren't you girls?" Matt asked with a smile.

"Yeah." Kayla said before she ran into the water.

Madison continued to giggle. "Yeah!" she said sitting by the water.

"Okay then."

AJ went up to Ellie with a small smile. "How much trouble am I in?"

Ellie chuckled. "A little, but...it's not your fault so...it's whatever." she shrugged.

"You sure?" he asked softly.

"Where's my baby girl?"

"Yep. Positive." she nodded. "She's in the water with Kayla and Matt."

Matt grabbed his camera from his bag then took a picture of himself with Maddie and Kayla.

"My two favorite nieces on Twitter." Matt said.

"Cool." Kayla said with a smile.

"How come you're not going in the water?" he asked with a slight smirk.

"I was in earlier." she chuckled. "Why?"

"Just because I may have the urge to take you into the water so we can swim with our daughter together..."
