Mother's Day [Ellie/AJ]

Ellie sat on the living room floor with Madison, as they were playing around with some blocks that were laid out. Madison giggled as she threw them around and Ellie couldn't help but to smile at her.

"You're too much Miss Madison." she teased as Maddie giggled and pointed at the tv that was on. Ellie looked over and nodded.

"Yep, that's your daddy." she replied as Madison clapped excitedly, watching him. "He'll be home in three days and then he'll be chasing you around." Ellie chuckled as she grabbed Madison and put her on her lap, watching AJ's match.

AJ had a huge smile on his face as pulled into the driveway. He'd been sent home early so on his way home he picked up a stuffed animal for Madison and a big bouquet of red and white roses for Ellie. And since it was Mother's Day, he had another little surprise for her. As he made sure he was able to carry everything, he silently unlocked the door and snuck inside. He could hear Ellie and and Maddie watching his taped match from the other night. After setting his bag down silently, he tip toed behind the couch holding the flowers in front of his face along with the stuffed toy.

"Um, yes, the door was left open and I have a special delivery for a Miss Madison Ruby Jones and a Mrs. Ellie Jones?" he said, doing his best to hide his voice.

Ellie heard the voice and turned around, looking confused as she saw the flowers and stuffed animal.

"I'm pretty sure I didn't leave the door open." she muttered and then shrugged. "Anyway, prepared to be punched." she told him as Madison started to crawl up the couch and retrieve the stuffed animal.

His eyes widened and he didn't wanna get punched. "Whoa! Ellie, it's me!" he said, moving his face to the side so he could be seen.

Her jaw dropped as she saw that it was AJ and she closed her eyes, then opened them again...still seeing him there.

"B-but...you're not supposed to be home...today." she said confused. "I mean...how?" she said letting out a slight chuckle.

He laughed. "Hey...I was not about to miss spending your first Mother's Day as a mother with you." he smiled, pulling her into his arms and kissing her. "I love you...and I missed you...and I have a surprise for you..."

She kissed him back and smiled at him.

"I love you and I missed you too...as for the surprise...well I thought you were the surprise." she chuckled as Maddie poked Ellie on the side and pouted up at her mom and dad.

"Well I'm part 1...we still have one more." he said, pulling out plane tickets for North Carolina and handing them to her.

She looked at him curiously.

"North Carolina? You're getting rid of me?" she joked with a pout.

He laughed. "There's a ticket for the both of us...since Maddie's not 2 yet, she flies free." he explained. "This is...so we can visit your mom...if you would like. We don't have to go if you don't want to."

She nodded and smiled softly.

"Of course I want to go. Thank you." she replied as she was about to lean in and kiss him, but Madison jumped in between them and hugged AJ around his waist.

"Oh..it seems like your daughter wants your attention." she chuckled.

He was about to kiss her and then looked down. "Oh! Hello beautiful." he smiled, picking her up. "I missed you so much too baby girl." he said, kissing her little face all over. "But...it's your mom's day...you need to be extra nice to her." he told her like he was whispering some big secret, but he said it in regular volume.

Madison giggled and smiled.

"Geez, if I was trying to tell her that, she'd just crawl away."

"Aww...why would she crawl away from you? And it's probably because she hasn't seen me in a few days..." he smiled, leaning in and stealing a kiss from Ellie.

She kissed him back and chuckled.

"Oh, you don't know how crazy she can get. She almost gave me a heart attack yesterday."

"how so? What happened?" he frowned a little.

"I was talking to Lacy on the phone and it appears as though Miss Jones, over here...crawled up onto the kitchen chair and onto the counter, getting ready to jump off. Damn her for having such crazy Uncles and watching their matches." she chuckled. "Luckily, I caught her in time and took her off the counter."

While he was worried for his daughter's safety and for his wife's mental sanity, he couldn't help but be impressed. "Really? What move was she gonna try? A swanton, or maybe my 450 degrees splash?" he asked a bit excited.

"Uh, I think she was going for a crossbody with the way she was getting ready to jump off." she replied. "Anyway, no..don't get excited, she's bad." she joked.

"Oh...okay. Maddie...that's very bad to get mommy and Auntie Lacy worried like that...you don't get to try things like that til you're at least 3." he smiled.

Madison just giggled.

"Anyway..." Ellie said shaking her head in amusement. "So, I was thinking....maybe we can spend the day together...without Maddie." she smirked. "I know Randy is in town so maybe we can leave her with him for a few hours."

"I like where this is going...I say we let Randy watch Maddie and I ravish my beautiful wife." he smirked.

"Sounds like a perfect plan to me."

"I say we get started right away." he said, moving and placing a few soft kisses to her neck.

She giggled.

"Maddie's right there though." she said squirming under his touch.
