After the Surgery

She crosses her arms not taking the pills.

He takes them and basically shoves them down her throat.

She let out a surprised squeak as she felt the pills forced in her mouth, and reluctantly swallowed them as not to choke. "What the fuck, Phil!" She glared.

He shrugged.

"You need them."

"No, I don't."

"Lacy yes you do, can you please just work with me here?"

"So now you care." She chuckles bitterly. "Take your fucking broken knee to someone who cares? Fuck you." She said quietly not looking at him.

"Alright, I was extremely out of line, but I just get so frustrated when all I've been doing is trying to help you."

"All you've been doing is toting my useless ass throughout the house."

"It's what I'm here for though. I'm here to help you get better and recover faster."

"I'm not going to get better." She rolls her eyes.

"You will."

"Even when this stupid brace comes off I'm still going to be a damn cripple."

"At least the brace will be off."

She scoffs. "Right."

"Come on Lace, I know you. Once that brace is off, you're be trying so hard to recover and I know you'll get be back before you're supposed to."

"Whatever." She grumbles. "I'm starting not to care anymore."

Phil just sighed and nodded.

"I give up trying to help you. You just keep bringing yourself down, but you don't need to hear anything from me, I'm making it worse."

"Fine. Room's yours, I'm staying down here."

He was going to say something, but decided against it. He went to the room and checked his phone, noticing he has missed a few calls from his mom, Shannon and all his other friends, checking on Lacy most likely.

He called his mom back and told her how Lacy was doing, of course lying to her. Finishing that phone call and a few others, he sighed in frustration and ran a hand through his hair, thinking how he can try to make things better again, especially since he was being an ass.

She leaned her head back on the couch and closing her eyes with a deep sigh. She never wanted things to get to the point that he had to leave the house, or actually give up on her. Phil wasn't responsible for her injury, so there was no reason for her to just snap on him like that.

Letting out another sigh, she opened her eyes slightly. "Phil." She called out loud enough for him to hear.

Hearing Lacy call him, he thought for a minute if he should actually go down there. She was probably going to tell him to pack up and leave for good. Regardless, he went downstairs and into the living room.

"Uh, yes?"

She looks at him with half closed eyes. "I suck. I know. I'm sorry."

"No it's cool. I'm an asshole, I deserved it."

"You were trying to help."
