After the Surgery

Lacy sat across the couch, staring boredly at the television as she watched the same episode of some novella for the fourth time that day. How many repeats could there be? She shifted slightly, frowning down at her right leg that was in medical brace that she'd received after her ACL surgery a few weeks ago.

She hated this. She felt useless, she could barely do anything on her own. She couldn't even use crutches, she had to use a wheelchair when going long or short distances, and as nice as it sounded, she didn't want people to carry her just to get up and downstairs.

Six months off sounded like a good idea, but it really wasn't. She was ready for a world outside of her damn living room, and it'd only been a few weeks. She could start her light physical therapy in two months, but other than that, she wasn't allowed any strenuous activity. Um, her entire life was based around strenuous activity.

She sighs heavily and continues to watch tv while eating popcorn.

Phil had just come back from going to the gym and walked into the living room, plopping down onto the other sofa.

He sighed and rolls his eyes as he heard her sigh.

She looked over him as he sighed and saw the roll of the eyes. "What."

"Nothing. Can't I just sigh?"

"Sure." She shook her head and looked back over at the tv.

"How long have you been down here for?"

"A while." She answered simply.

"You haven't tried to get up or do anything?"

"Nope." She stares at the tv.

"The doctor said you should make an effort."

"Whatever." She shrugged.

"Whatever." he muttered.

"Stop being so lazy and try doing something."

"How about you get off my case?" She scoffed.

"Well I wouldn't have to be on your case if you weren't fricking lazy."

"You know what, I don't need you doing everything for me like you have been; and I don't need you to tell me what do to like I'm a damn child."

"Oh really? Fine." he said as he stood up.

"Why don't you take your fucking broken knee to someone else who cares! I'm done trying to help you." he said with a glare as he left the living room.

"Fine then, get your shit and get the fuck out of my house!" she yelled back as she threw a pillow across the room in frustration.

"You sure as hell don't have to tell me twice." he said as he stormed off to the bedroom and grabbed his stuff.

"Bastard." She muttered

He rolled his eyes and he grabbed his belongings.

"Consider me gone."

She couldn't look at him as she said this, "Leave then."

Phil nodded and just left.

"Fuck." She muttered, resting her head on the back of the couch.

A couple hours later

Phil groaned to himself as he went back to Lacy's house. He didn't have anywhere to go and decided to head back. He walked in with the key he had and saw her there, he walked by and didn't say anything.

Lacy laid on the couch asleep.
