Once Again

Lacy showed up a few minutes later to see Ellie crying. She frowned and went over to her. "Ellie, what's wrong?" She asked.

Scott showed up about an hour later, he stopped by his place to grab a shower and a change of clothes. He walked in to the living room. "Guys?"

"It's over Lacy." she frowned. "It's really over. He said that he can't ask me to take him back because he doesn't want to cause me any more pain...but my heart is breaking. It hurts so bad." she cried.

Punk headed out of the kitchen and saw Colt. "Hey Colton." he nodded in greeting.

Maddie and Ajay looked over from where they were sitting on the couch. "Hi Scotty." Maddie said as she just continued to watch tv, obviously still bummed out.

"Scotty, hi." Ajay waved as he stayed by Madison, who was hugging him to her as they watched tv.

Lacy sighed and put a gentle arm around Ellie's shoulders. "I know it hurts, El... I've been there. I don't know how this whole thing happened, but maybe it's for the best." Of course, she was biased.

Scott walked over to Madison and Ajay, sitting next to them on the couch. "Cheer up you guys... your mom is going to be just fine." he told them.

She sighed and nodded a bit. "I shouldn't even bother trying anymore. I thought I loved Brad, but he left me. Then I thought AJ was the one, but he was never around and I fell out of love. Finally, I had Scott and he's great and amazing...and he loves me, but he doesn't want to be with me because he's afraid to hurt me. I just want to be happy, Lacy. I want what you have with Punk and yes, I know it hasn't been easy...but you guys have each other at the end of the day." she sniffled. "What am I doing wrong?"

"But she's not here." Maddie said.

"I'll tell you exactly what you're doing wrong." She sighed. "You keep trying to base your relationship with Scott off of mine and Punk's. Punk and I have the kind of relationship that we do because we did what -we- wanted, we didn't pay attention to what other people were doing or saying. I know you love Scott," only God knows why, but, "I know you do, and he loves you too. But right now, you two are in a lot of pain, physically and emotionally. So maybe it is best that you two give it a break and when some time has passed, you talk out what you want from your relationship."

"Because she's getting better so she can come home and be with you guys." Scott explained.

She sighed a bit and wiped her tears away, trying to calm down because her headache was killing her. "It just hurts." she sighed. "But...I guess you're right, maybe I should let it be." she shrugged.

"Soon?"

"At the end of the day, you and Scott will figure it out." Lacy told her. She didn't want to badmouth Scott because she wasn't trying to upset her anymore.

"I'll be honest with you guys, I can't promise that."

She nodded. "I heard you're not too fond of him right now." she said as she adjusted herself and rubbed her head.

"Well, I hope she gets better then." Maddie shrugged.

"Me too." Ajay said.

Well, she wasn't gonna lie to her. "No, not really."

"Well..." he chewed his lip. "Would you like to talk to her?" he asked.

"Why not?" she sighed. "Look Lacy, if you're blaming him...don't. It was my fault, I should have had more common sense and stayed home instead of driving when I wasn't calm."

"...can we?"

"It was his fault for upsetting you." She shook her head. 'If you want to forgive him, then that's fine. Just don't expect me to."

"Sure." He nodded. He was sure Lacy wouldn't answer a call from him, so... "Punk! Dial Lacy for me, the kids want to talk to Ellie."

She shook her head. "I never wanted things to get this bad." she sighed.

Punk snorted and dialed Lacy's number, handing it over to Madison.

"Well... yeah." Lacy chuckled dryly and answered her phone. "Hello?"

"Layley, may I speak to Mommy please?"

"Madison? Um... sure." Lacy offered the phone to Ellie. "It's for you."

Ellie took the phone. "Hello?"

"MOMMY!" Maddie grinned...Ellie had to pull the phone away from her ear a little, lol.

"Hi baby." she chuckled a bit.

"Mommy, Ajay and I miss you soooooooooo much. We've been really good for Layley and Punk."

"I'm glad to hear that and I miss you both, soooooo much too. I have to stay in the hospital for a couple of days, but once I get all better...I get to go home and be with you guys."

"And you stay?" Maddie asked. "Hi Mommy!" Ajay said in the background.

"Yes, I'm staying and not going anywhere." she told her. "And hi Ajay." she smiled. "I can't wait to see you guys. Keep behaving for Punk and Layley and be nice to each other."

"We will." they both said. "Love you Mommy!"

"I love you guys too." she said and handed the phone back over to Lacy.

"Bye bye, guys." Lacy hung up. "See, they're thinking about you." she chuckled a little.

"Feel a little better?" Scott asked them.

"I love them." she chuckled a little. "Ugh, I just want to sleep. These headaches are horrible."

"Mhm, a little better."

"You've got a concussion." Lacy told her. "Call the doctor and ask when it'll be okay for you to close your eyes. We don't need you in a coma."

"Well... I'm here for a little while. What do you guys wanna do?"

"I know. These headaches are on and off and are annoying...but I guess it could be worse." she said. "Lacy, thanks by the way. For coming last night and watching Maddie and Ajay for me and for coming today." she told her.

"H, I don't know." Maddie shrugged. "We go to the park for a little bit?"

"Hey, don't sweat it." Lacy waved her off. "You're my best friend, you know I'd do that for you."

"Sure, I'll even buy you an ice cream." He smiled. "Go get your shoes, guys."

"I know, but still...thank you." she said as she hugged her.

"Oh okay." Maddie said as they ran off to get their shoes.

(I forgot to tell you lol...if you want we can fast forward this to like a few weeks later or something cause I'm not keeping her in the hospital forever lol)

Lacy hugged her back. "No problem."

Uh...a month and a half later? lol. Yeah, a month and a half later, Ellie was finally back home and feeling a little better. She still had those headaches, but they weren't as bad and frequent. She didn't need any surgery, thank goodness and would just have to relax and not get stressed out. Like he said, Colt was there to help her especially when it came to Maddie and Ajay, but they behaved and stayed at Ellie's side like every minute. In fact, they slept in her bed with her...like they were currently doing. It was their nap time and they said they had no choice but to sleep with Mommy on her bed. Ellie was flipping through channels in the meanwhile, making sure to keep the volume low so that they didn't wake up. She adjusted the blanket over Madison and Ajay, kissing their forehead. After a few minutes, she heard the front door open and figured somebody was coming in...she just didn't know who, since Lacy and Colt both had a key to her place.

Scott made his way into Ellie's house with a few bags of food for Ellie and the kids. He promised her he'd help her out while she was healing and that was exactly what he'd done. So far, the separation was going well for them, or at least he thought so. It was still hard for him though, so it wasn't just her that was hurting. She had no idea how many times he just wanted to take her in his arms and hold her his arms whenever she got those migraines, kiss her tears away, but he controlled himself. For now, he just helped Ellie around the house and with Madison and Ajay. It got to the point where he just paid the bills at his place and stayed in Ellie's guest room and helped her around. He didn't mind, though. He got some food on a plate for Ellie and went to bring it upstairs to her. It was around the kids' naptime, but if they were awake, he'd go back down and fix their plates too. He peeked his head into her room. "Ellie?" he held the plate up so she could see it. "Got your food."
