The Blind Date (Mike/Maryse)

Maria had called Maryse and told her that Dave's friend was in town and he wanted to go out on their date. Maryse got herself ready, took a taxi and headed to the restaurant that Maria told her to go to. She checked herself in the mirror as she paid for the ride and then went inside, putting her jacket on over her dress. She was to wait for her date at the table, stating that it was a blind date and the other person would be joining her soon. As she was seated, she took out her mirror, fluffed her hair a bit and put on some lip gloss, she put it away and waited patiently.

Mike arrived to the restaurant wearing this. He wasn't so sure about this but Maria and Dave told him to go for it. He didn't even know who the girl was but he trusted them. He got into the restaurant and told them he was also on a blind date and wondered if she was already here. They got his name Mike and took him to the table. He saw who was at the table already and tried not to laugh.

Maryse happened to look up as she saw him walking. She rolled her eyes to herself as it clicked together. That was the Mike, Maria was talking about. She'd rant to her later. "You? Seriously?" This was embarrassing.

"Yeah...me...seriously." he said, a bit put off by her attitude.

Okay, maybe she sounded rude, but she didn't mean it like that. Well in her mind anyway. "It's just uh...can you not tell anybody about this? It's strange to be set up, people usually expect me to be the one to go on dates all the time and have guys around me." she said. "So...I'm a little....embarrassed."

"Embarrassed, huh? Well that's just a great ego booster for me." he said, still put off by her attitude. "And if you keep this up, you'll experience another first. I'll walk out on you."

This date was awful. Definitely ranting to Maria later. "Okay, fine." she said. "Sorry." she muttered.

He just rolled his eyes as he looked over his menu. "It's amazing that someone with your looks is so opposite personality wise." he snorted.

"Oh? So what exactly are you saying?"

"You're a bitch...you're beautiful but you're a bitch so no wonder you're down to blind dates." he said simply. "Something you seem to think is beneath you." he said sipping his water.

"Hm..." she said as she nodded to herself a bit. She shrugged to herself a bit. "It's how I've always been."

"So how long was your longest relationship then?"

She tried to think. "Like....four months."

"Well that answered that question..."

"You don't have to make me feel worse than I already do. I get it, I'm a bitch."

"Well if you know that, then why are you? I don't get it."

She didn't know him that well and she wasn't about to tell him her sob story. "I have my reasons." she said.

"Please...pretty girls like you probably has major "Cinderella" issues." he said as he sipped his drink.

She scoffed and rolled her eyes to herself, shaking her head. "Like I said...I have my own personal reasons. Just leave it alone."

"Fine then...you pick something to talk about then."

"Fine." she nodded as she thought of something. "So, is this your first time being set up?" she asked.

"Yes...by my friends anyway...my parents tried setting me up once in college."

"Oh? Why'd they do that?" she asked with a slight chuckle.

"Because being single and over 20 for longer than 6 months was a bad sign to them." he rolled his eyes.

She laughed a little. "Guess they just wanted you to settle down or something."
