Be My Valentine?

It had been a few days since Ellie and Colt had gotten into their little fight. They both ended up going to their respective meetings, but did not speak to each other to tell them how it went. After a while, it was starting to bug Ellie that they weren't speaking and she thought a lot over what happened and realized it was really a stupid fight and that they shouldn't even be upset with one another. Today was Valentine's Day and she didn't want to spend it being all upset and miserable, she wanted to be happy and all lovey dovey with Colt; which is what they should be. She then texted Colt.

Hey, Scott. I know we haven't discussed what happened the other day and we really need to. This fight is just stupid now and it shouldn't even be like this. Look, if you want I sort of made plans for us to talk, if you want to tonight anyway. I'll be at this address. You can come around 7 if you'd like, or anytime after that. I hope to see you later on tonight. She then put in the address and a note for him to bring extra clothes.

Ellie had rented a small loft for the night and planned to talk things out with Colt and also have a romantic dinner with him, spending Valentine's Day together. She set up the table for them, putting some flowers in the middle and lit up the candles. After that, she put the food in the oven and took out the cupcakes that were baked and iced them. When she was sure that everything was okay, she headed up to the bathroom to shower and change into her dress for the night.

After she finished changing and made sure she looked okay, she headed downstairs and checked on the food, seeing that it was done. She took it out of the oven, poured herself a glass of wine and was just going to make a few last minute things before Colt showed up. It was already a little past quarter after 7, so she'd just have to wait and see if he would show up.

He got her text earlier in the day and decided that he would show up. They didn't really talk since their argument and he decided now was a good time to makeup. After 7, he showed up to the loft with the change of clothes that she requested. He knocked on the door and waited for her to answer.

She had just finished putting the meat back in the oven to cook a little more, when she heard the knock. She closed the oven and went to open it. "Hey." she said and then stepped aside so he could come in.

"Hey." he kissed her cheek and walked in.

She closed the door behind her. "You look nice." she told him as she went back to the kitchen. "Wine?" she offered.

"no thanks." he said. "And you look beautiful."

"Thank you." she smiled. "Um so, the food needs like another two or three minutes." she said. "Should we talk first or just wait to do it while we're eating?"

"I don't really want to talk about it" he said. "I think we can both agree on what I said was stupid and wrong and I am sorry. This avoiding each other thing is dumb, so now we're not avoiding each other."

"I know." she nodded. "But I just want to be clear on a few things." she said. "First off, you don't need to be sorry for anything." she shrugged. "I'm the one who needs to be sorry. It was selfish of me to jump at the opportunity and not even give it a second thought. I need to stay home with the kids and be there for them everyday. I can't just start traveling from city to city and leave them behind, it's not right. Besides, you were right. When I went to the meeting, they told me that they only wanted me for six months. They were only going to use me as a valet and have me in a few matches here and there, which is why I told them no and that I'm going to retire." she sighed. "And I just want you to know that I love you, am extremely happy for you and proud of you." she said as she reached for his hand and held it, lacing her fingers through his. "You deserve that contract more than anybody I know. You work really hard and this time they seem to realize that it was a mistake to let you go in the first place." she chuckled. "I'm your wife and I'm supposed to and am going to support you every step of the way in whatever decision you make. I'll be cheering you on when you make it to the top of the business and I'll be sitting in the audience, watching you as you get inducted into the Hall of Fame one day." she laughed.

"I'm not taking the contract."

"What? Why not?" she asked.

"Because I'm good where I am." he said, squeezing her hand gently. "Besides, you and I have seen firsthand what that kind of travelling can do to a relationship. I'm holding on to you and those kids for as long as I can with no interruptions. I'd rather not deal with it."he said. "We're going to be fine."

She smiled a bit and nodded. "Like I said, I support your decision. I just want to make sure you don't regret not taking it." She told him. "Now if you ever join TNA...hm, I don't know if I can support you with that." She teased.

he chuckled a little. "We're not that desperate."

She laughed. "So, since I guess we're good then. Wanna be my valentine?" she chuckled.

He laughed a little. "Sure."

"Great." she smiled. "Go on and have a seat. I made a salad for us to eat before we have dinner." she told him.

"You really went all out didn't you?"

"I sure did." she nodded.

He chuckled. "Can't wait to see what you got planned."

"Nothing too crazy." she said. "No go. Sit." she chuckled as she went back to the kitchen to grab their salads.

"Fine, fine." he chuckled and went to go sit at the table she had set up.

She put together their caesar salads and then brought them over to the table, serving Colt his plate first. She then put her salad down on her side, taking her seat next to him. "Want anything to drink?" she asked as she poured herself another glass of wine.

"Just some water, I'll go get it."

"Nuh uh, I've got it." she said. "Don't worry about it." she told him and stood up to get the water for him.
