First Married Fight

She heard him again and again...she was so upset and hurt that she packed a bag and would spend the night at his Mom's house. "He could have his bedroom and house all to himself tonight." she mumbled to herself. She was nice enough to leave a note on the kitchen table though. "Staying with your Mother." she wrote and left to go there and spend her time with the kids and his Mom.

Funny, he was headed to his Mom's house. he took backroads so he didn't see Ellie's car. He got there and didn't see anything in the driveway, so he used his key to get in the house. "Is anyone home?"

She made a pit stop by Lacy's first, lol.

His Mom was in the back room doing some arts and crafts with the kids when she heard him. "I'll be right back. You guys keep gluing okay?"

"Okay.' Maddie and Ajay giggled.

"Hi son." she smiled. "I wasn't expecting you to pick up the kids." she said.

"I'm not." he sighed. "Ellie and I got into a fight."

She frowned. "Sit and tell me what happened." she said as she sat in the kitchen.

"She got an offer from WWE and so did I. I was worried about who was going to take care of the kids and I thought she should do it because I didn't want to dump them off on you, and I might've.. suggested that her career wouldn't have had any longevity." he sighed.

"First off, congratulations." she smiled. "I'm glad they finally realized how silly they were to let you go in the first place." she said. "And for her as well." she nodded. "Secondly, what exactly did you say to her?"

"I told her that she was too old to work as a woman in the company and that it was selfish of her to put my career on the backburner because hers would have only lasted six months anyway."

She winced. "Geez, Scott."

"I didn't mean it." he groaned. "I was mad. But she doesn't realize what a big opportunity this is for me. She's had her time to shine in that company, it's time for me to be something more than just Punk's friend."

She nodded. "You're right about that. Look, I'm sure she sees it too but you know how she's been lately about not getting many offers at any shows. She has been really down about it. Maybe this was something that cheered her up and got her excited because they want her back and people haven't forgotten about her. It makes her feel good."

"She doesn't -have- to work, though." he groaned. "I'm not loaded like Punk but I do my damndest to provide for her and those kids and she doesn't -have- to do anything. She's taken care of. We're not hurting for anything."

"I know honey." she said. "You know your wife though. She just wants to help in any way she can." she shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe what they'll offer her will be something she won't agree with. You two are upset now, once she calms down she'll think it through. You both will."

"I dunno, she looked at me like she wanted to claw my face off after I said what I did." he snorted.

"Well I mean, even though you didn't mean it, it was pretty harsh." she chuckled. "You two will be alright though, I know it."

"If I know Ellie like I think I know her then she is probably somewhere plotting my untimely demise."

"Relax. She won't do anything that drastic." She chuckled. "I can't help but to find this a little amusing, it's your first fight as a married couple and I'm sure you both are sulking and stubborn with one another."

"It's not our first fight ever." He snorted.

"Oh I know that. She calls me when you guys fight and rants about how I deal with my idiot son." She chuckled.

"It's nice to know who's side you're on." he snorted.

"I'm on your side when you're right and I'm on her side when she's right. Even then I still make you both see it from the other's person's point of view."

"And that's why you're mom." he kissed her cheek. "So.. what do I do?"

"Honestly, I would wait until you both go to your respective meetings and see what they offer you. After that, then talk to Ellie and go from there."

"at this point I don't even wanna go to the meeting if this is thr trouble it's causing." he said.

"Nonsense, you're going." she nodded. "At least so you have more details."
