First Married Fight

He snapped out of it and looked towards where Ellie was calling him. "Yeah?"

"I have the greatest news." she said as she made it to the kitchen. She looked at him for a moment and calmed herself down. "You okay?"

"Yeah, what's up?"

"Okay." she said. "Oh, well I was checking my email and I came across an email from WWE. I thought it was one of their paychecks that they send their former employers once in a while, but it wasn't."

He rose a brow. "What is it?"

"They want me back and want me to go to a meeting this week to discuss the contract."

He blinked. "Uh.. what?"

"Mhm." she nodded. "I can't wait to find out what they say."

"Um... well, I just got an offer from them." he held up the letter for her to see.

"What?" she asked as she took the letter and looked it over. "Babe!" she grinned. "That's great."

"Yeah, too bad we couldn't do this together." he said.

"...we couldn't?"

"Who's gonna stay here with the kids?" he asked.

"Well, I'd figure it out." she said. "For all I know the contract may want me to just appear at live shows or something." she told him. "I thought you said you wouldn't go back though, since you like the indy scene so much."

"Yeah, but they're hunting me down this time." he said. "This is my break, El."

"I know that." she said. "And I'm happy for you, but this is my break too. Divas never really get those second chances."

"El, no offense, but you're kind of old to be talking about returning to wrestling. For a woman, anyway." he rubbed the back of his neck. "And someone needs to stay here to take care of the kids and I don't want to dump them off on my mom."

"Old?" she scoffed as she crossed her arms across her chest.

"You're not old, I meant for a girl... I mean.. ugh." he slammed his hand against his forehead. "Listen, girls your age aren't old but in that business they're usually out the door anyway."

"Uh huh." she said. Not impressed, lol. "Well, I'm going to prove that statement wrong and I'm going to that meeting."

"So you're willing to throw me under the bus for a career that's going to last only six months anyway?" he asked and immediately regretted it after, shutting his eyes tight.

She frowned. "You are such a dick." she said and shoved the letter back in his hands, before storming back upstairs to the office, slamming the door shut and locking it.

"...that's my office!" he called lamely up the stairs before tossing the letter aside. "Fuck." he muttered to himself.

She heard him. "Fine!" Since she was all bitter, she left the office and went to her room, slamming the door shut.

"My bedroom, my house.." he grumbled as he grabbed his keys, leaving the letter out and going for a bike ride.
