Making a Decision

"I don't want another girlfriend. I want Brooke. She's so pretty Daddy, and she's nice."

"Well then...just tell the guy to leave her alone and get her away from him."

Brandon slammed his head down onto the table. "Girls are stupid."

"Some of them anyway." he laughed. "Honestly though kiddo, you should go solo for a while. See what else is out there for you."

"But I wanna be like you and have a wife like mommy." he said. "So we can play house and I can buy her stuff and make her happy." he crossed his arms. "Brooke just wants to go play with other boys and then I look like a doof when I'm playin' by myself at recess. It's not fair!" he shook his head. "I just wanna be like you and mommy."

"Hm, you need somebody different." he told him. "Brooke clearly doesn't want to be like us. Why not try Maddie? She likes you and even though you don't play with her or like her very much, she doesn't go off and play with other boys. She plays alone sometimes. You don't have to like her, but you can try being friends with her." he suggested.

Brandon blanched. "Maddie?"

"Yes, Maddie." he snorted.

"Why her?" He groaned.

"Because she seems to be nice and would like to be like me and Mommy." he told him. "And I think she'd always be happy with you."

"Aw but she's just dumb ol' Maddie." He said with a shrug. "I mean she's pretty and everything."

"I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. Before I married Mommy, we didn't like each other at all." he told him. "I mean, I thought she was very pretty, but like you, I just didn't like her and she didn't like me."

"Huh? Why not?" He frowned. "Tell me."

"I just thought she was very mean and Mommy thought I was a big baby." he shrugged. "So we didn't like each other for a long time."

"Why did you start to like each other then?" He asked.

"I don't exactly remember what it was, but we had to drive to a match together and our car stopped working. I guess we started talking and I made her laugh, then I think I tickled her and we started to like each other."

He rose a brow. "I'm not gonna tickle Maddie."

He laughed. "I didn't say you have to, but that's what happened with me and Mommy."

"Ugh." He groaned. "And you really think me and Maddie will be like you and Mommy?"

"I think so." he nodded.

He sighed. "Then I will ask."

"Just try it." he chuckled. "And if you don't like her, then at least it's over." he nodded.

"But she's like Ally. Clingy." He said. "Is Mommy clingy?"

"Mommy and I sort of do our own thing and we get clingy when we need to. Like when guys try to talk to Mommy, I make sure I'm by her allllll the time."

"Do you beat up guys that talk to mommy?" He asked.
