Making It Up To Her

It was after the New Year and Scott knew that he hadn't exactly been the best candidate for Husband of the Year. He'd forgotten their anniversary, her birthday, he'd been really crappy with her in the beginning of year and he'd been working a lot -- almost too much. She'd mentioned it before and he hadn't paid attention to it, but while he was reflecting on his way to the airport to catch a flight to Germany, he'd seemingly had a flash of realization. He called the promoter, cancelled his appearance due to a "family emergency" (which it was, he had to save his marriage) and turned right back around to drive back to his home from the airport. He stopped by the store and picked up a bouquet of roses for her. It was still early in the morning when he got home, and everyone should have still been asleep.

He got to his house and parked the car, getting out and heading inside. He put the security code back into the alarm system before he headed upstairs with Ellie's flowers. When he got to the room, he set her flowers on the dresser and climbed in bed behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist gently and kissing the back of her neck.

Ellie was sleeping of course and was so into her sleep that she let out a pout. "I'll take you out later, Tigger." She whined.

"I hope Tigger doesn't wrap his arms around you like this." he chuckled and kissed her neck again.

She blinked and then looked over at the clock, then looked back at Colt. "Scott?" She asked. "...what are you doing here?" She asked surprised. "Or did I imagine you saying you had a flight?"

"I did have a flight. I just didn't get on it."

"Why not? Are you okay?" She asked concerned.

"I'm fine. Just had a bit of a come to Jesus moment... wait.." He frowned, lol.

"A Jesus moment?" She chuckled. "What was it?" She asked as she turned to face him.

He sighed and readjusted his grip on her. "I've been a pretty shitty husband."

She let out a small sigh and ran her finger up his arm and onto his shoulder. "Scott, you haven't been that shitty." she told him. "I just shouldn't have gotten so upset over stuff." She didn't mean to make him feel bad about things.

"El, I know you don't like it when I feel bad, but let me take the fall for this. I haven't been good to you."

"...well, it did upset me when you forgot our anniversary." she admitted. "And my birthday too, even though it's nothing special." she told him. "I always try to make your birthday or any other day special for you and it kind of hurt that you didn't return the favor." she said. "I didn't want to make it a big deal though since you've been under a lot of stress. I mean, yes, your Mom is getting better; but I know you still worry. Plus, you've been booked more now after not being booked as much, I didn't want you to not take offers either. I just didn't want to add unnecessary stress to you." she shrugged a little as she just kept her focus on her fingers. Didn't want to look at him looking all sad, lol.

"Ellie." he grabbed her chin gently and made her look up at him. "Nothing about you is unnecessary to me. Life happens and I reacted poorly to the stressors in my life, but I never want you to feel like you have to take a back seat to anything, Ellie. You are my number one priority and I know I haven't been making you feel that way, but I promise that I'm gonna change that," he said. "I'm sorry I haven't been paying nearly as much attention to you as I should have been, baby." he kissed her forehead, then the tip of her nose, and then her lips very softly. "Everything that you feel is important and the next time you feel like i'm slacking off in any department of our marriage then you need to ride my stupid ass until I get the point." he smirked a little before kissing her again. "Do you believe me?"

She listened to what he said, then let out a small laugh and smiled a little, nodding her head. "Yes, I believe you." she said. "You're never one to go back on your promises."

He burrowed his head into the crook of her neck. "I love you," he said before he kissed her neck. "I've been slacking off somewhere else, too."

"Which is?" she asked confused.

He slid the hand that was resting on her stomach down into her shorts and reached to rub her intimately. "Here."

"...o-oh." she nodded as she bit her lip. "It's been a while."

"It's been longer than a while, I'd say. Wouldn't you?" he said as he added more pressure.

"Over a few months.' she muttered. "That feels so good."

"I can make it feel better." he said lowly in her ear.

She let out a low whimper and nodded. "Then do it."

He shifted her to lay on her back while his other hand kept steady with what it was doing. He leaned over her and moved down to kiss her lips.

She wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him back, moving her hips a little to match his movements with his hand.

He kissed her deeply and slipped his fingers down a little to push one into her.
