A Few Things to Talk About

Conner was at home today with Claire. Ashley had some errands to run and it was a lot easier without the baby. Besides...Conner loved Claire and was happy to have more time with her. He did have to get some paperwork together, though. He looked over his work contract and they had settled on a much easier travel schedule so he could be with his fmaily more. He never thought he would ever request something like that. But with his heel persona it actually worked that he wasn't there as much. He made it work so when he would cut promos, he would tell everyone he was so good he didn't have to be there as much as everyone else and it was a PRIVILEDGE for everyone to see him. So it all worked out. He would do TV tapings, pay per views, and one house show a week. He set Clair down in her play area and as he began to put some of the papers away, something else fell out. He picked it up and looked it over. It was his marriage contract with Ashley.

He began to read through it again as Claire began to fuss. He set the paper back down on the desk as he picked up his little girl. "What, Claire...don't like it when I have to work?" he asked in baby talk with a loving smile. He gently began to tickle the baby, loving the way she laughed. He never wanted to be a dad...but when the doctor put Claire in his arms...everything changed...at least on that front. He went over to the couch with her and laid down, holding her over him so she was up high. "Look Claire~! You're flying~!!" he grinned as she giggled and laughed. He didn't even hear the door open. Even in front of Ashley he didn't let her see him this way with the baby.

Ashley went shopping for Claire since she was getting much bigger now. She left Claire with Conner for a while, since it was easier for her to go shopping that way. She walked into the house with her bags and closed the door, hearing Claire giggle. She looked over to see Claire and Conner playing together. "I'm home guys."

Conner stopped, pulling Claire close again and getting up. "Hey." he smiled, keeping it cool again. "So what'd you go out to get?"

"Just bought Claire a few outfits." she shrugged.

"Ohhh...baby fashion show?" he grinned.

She laughed a bit. "If she cooperates."

"I'm sure she will." he chuckled as they moved to the living room floor so Claire could try on the clothes.

"Okay then." she said as she went through the bags and handed an outfit over to him. "Try to get that one on her."

"Alright." he said, picking up the Little Miss Everything outfit. Claire was laying down long enough for Conner to get her first outfit off down to her diaper but once she had that off the little baby started crawling away. "Whoa...Claire baby...you can't go around naked." he laughed.

Ashley laughed a bit. "Oh she's a runner."

Conner managed to get Claire back and set her down as he opened the outfit. Claire began to get frustrated so she slowly got to her feet so she could get away. She began to whine and babble as she stumbled but started to walk...REALLY walk away.

Ashley gasped as she watched Claire. "Oh my god! She's walking."

"Oh my god!" he grinned like an idiot. Claire ended up falling back on her butt with a cute little squeak but she got back up and kept trying.

"Good job Claire." Ashley smiled as she recorded her.

"So you got that on video?" he grinned.

"I did." she nodded. "I can't not record this moment."

He smiled before picking Claire up. "I'll let you go again once we get you dressed." he chuckled as he finally managed to get the onesie on her. "There." he smiled.

"She looks so adorable."

"She is adorable." he smiled.

"Gets it from her mother." she joked. "I'll go put the rest of her stuff away."

"That she does." he winked at Ashley. "Sure thing." he said as he continued to let Claire try and walk more.

Ashley headed upstairs and went to put away all the clothes she bought Claire. She came back down about 20 minutes later and went back to the living room. "Did she nap at all today?"

"Not yet...it should hit her anytime now." he chuckled as Claire walked...well stumbled to Ashley.

Ashley bent down to pick her up. "I'll make her a bottle and put her down for a nap. If she doesn't nap now, she'll be up all night." she said as she went to warm up Claire's bottle.

When Ashley took Claire, he got up as well. He went to his office again and looked over the marriage contract again. He folded it and put it in his pocket before heading to their bedroom. They needed to go over some things.
