Taking Her Out

Maddie giggled. "Yes. I wanted to make my bear, so I put a nugget in my pocket."

"You're a strange one, little girl." Lacy chuckled.

Madison laughed and grabbed her bear. "I finish."

"Okay." She nodded. "Let's go pay and put them in pretty boxes so they don't get dirty," she said as she offered her hand after grabbing Ajay's horse.

"Okay Layley." she said as she held Lacy's hand.

They went over to the register and the cashier rang up the toys and the clothes. As Lacy reached into her purse to reach for her card, she heard the cashier gasp lightly. She looked up and the girl was staring directly at Madison. Instinctively, Lacy pulled Madison closer to her. Finally, the cashier spoke.

"Oh, my God... you're Ellie Hardy's daughter, aren't you? And you!" She pointed at Lacy. "You're Lacy Black."

She bit back a sigh. Here we go.

"Lacy?" Maddie asked. "No, that's Layley."

"You're so cute!" The girl squealed at Madison.

"Um... can you just swipe my card, please," Lacy tried to ask as politely as possible.

Maddie giggled a little, she never had attention like that before. "I know." she laughed. "Layley say I cute all the time."

"Well Lacy's right." The cashier laughed and finally took Lacy's card, swiping it. "What are your mommy and daddy like?"

"I think that'll be all. Thank you." Lacy took her card, signed the receipt quickly and got the hell out of there with Madison in tow. What, she tried to be nice.

"Layley." she pouted. "I was talking to her."

"And now you can talk to me." Lacy chuckled a little as they got away from the store.

"I love talking to you." she giggled.

"Well look at that, I love talking to you too." Lacy chuckled a little. "Can you think of anyone else we need presents for?"

"Hm...I dunno."

"Let's see. We got Mommy, Ajay, Brandon, yo-- err, Ally..."

"Punk?"

"I don't know how to shop for Punk." Lacy laughed a little. "He has everything he wants."

"Get him.....tattoo." she nodded.

"Get him a tattoo?" She laughed. "Like on me?"

"No like...take him to get one."

She laughed. "Where would he put another tattoo?"

"I dunno." she giggled. "He always finds a place."

"You're right. He does." She laughed a little. Of course, she wasn't going to tell her -how- she knew. Maybe when she was 18. lol. "Hm, what if I get him like... a gym?"
