First Father's Day

Ellie was in the kitchen making some fruit salads and other things, preparing for a little BBQ that they were having. It was sort of like a housewarming and Father's Day BBQ combined into one, since they moved into a new home. She invited some of Colt's family and friends, along with Lacy and  Punk if they wanted to come. She quickly changed into her dress and went back to the kitchen to check on things. She blinked and frowned a bit to herself. "Babe, where are the chips and soda?" she called out as she looked in the cabinets for them.

Scott came into the kitchen carrying Tigger. "Um.. in my tummy?"

"Scottttttt..." she frowned. "That wasn't all for you."

"Why not, I bought it." he chuckled.

"It's for our guests." she snorted. "And now I have to find something else for them to snack on."

"Carrots." he chuckled. "Maddie, Ajay! Come here."

She rolled her eyes and snorted, looking for some more snacks.

"Yeah, Daddy?" Maddie asked as she ran into the room, wearing a pair of pink shorts with a white shirt. Ajay followed behind in a red and white short sleeved shirt and jean shorts.

"Mommy found out we ate all of the chips."

"You guys too?" 

"...maybe?" Maddie grinned.

"We hungry!" Ajay nodded. "And well, Daddy was eating them already anyway. We helped him."

"Daddy gets no gift now." she snorted.

"Oh yes Daddy will." he chuckled and put Tigger down. "Huh guys?"

"Yeah! That's not nice." Maddie shook her head.

"Daddy has been a good boy." Ajay nodded. 

"Hm, did I ever tell you how unfair it is that they always go against me when it comes to you?" Ellie chuckled and found extra chips and soda, putting them on the table.

"That's because they love me." he kneeled down to their heights. "Don't you guys?"

"Lots and lots." Maddie grinned as she hugged him by wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing his cheek. 

"Mhm! You're the bestest." Ajay nodded as he hugged him too.

He chuckled and picked them both up. "But you love Mommy too, right?"

"Duh." they both said.

"Clearly not as much though." Ellie joked as she looked everything over. "Okay, I think we're good now." she nodded. "I suppose I can show you one gift for now."

"And what is that?"

"Well..." she said as she took Maddie and Ajay from him, putting them down and covering his eyes. "I'll lead you." she said as she lead him to the room where his gift was. "Just...don't kill me when you see it. I promise I didn't spend tons on it."

"ellie.." he said warningly.

"Hush." she chuckled and opened the door to the garage, removing her hands from his eyes. "I remember when we first started dating, you said you've always wanted an old mustang convertible to drive in from time to time, sooooo...I looked around for one and there it is. All yours." she said as she bit her lip. "Happy Father's Day."

Scott blinked. "Ellie this must have cost you a fortune."

"Don't worry about it." she told him. "Really. I wanted you to have it."

"Not like I can tell you to take it bad." he chuckled and kissed her forehead. "I love it. Though next year, a card and a tie, yeah?"

"Nope." she grinned. "I'm glad you love it." she told him. "There's more for you later." she nodded.

"Can I have it now?" he wrapped his arms around her.

"But it's on your podcast." she chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
