"Of course." he said as he laid down behind her and held her to him, running his hands gently over her stomach.

She sighed a bit. "They said we were supposed to have a little girl." she sniffled.

"...yeah." she said. "I'll sleep now." she nodded and closed her eyes to try to get some sleep.

Since Ellie was just physically and emotionally exhausted, she managed to fall asleep pretty quickly. Punk was still outside in the waiting room with Lacy and since they couldn't go and see Ellie, he texted Colt to find out what was going on.

Ellie was only able to sleep for a few hours and after a while, she just stopped trying to sleep. She knew that Colt was still there, so she tried not to move much because she didn't want to disturb him.

He wasn't asleep, he was watching what was on the hospital tv when he felt Ellie stir. He pushed her hair out of her face. "Hey."

"Not really." she said. "I just feel like I have cramps." she shrugged lightly.

She shook her head. "Nah, I'm fine for now. I don't really feel like dealing with nurses or doctors right now."

She shrugged. "It's not like we can do much about it. We already have a ton of stuff going on this year and apparently a baby wasn't meant to be for us."

"...I just---ugh, I don't get why we are being punished." she said, just very frustrated with it all. "What did we do wrong to deserve this?" she said as she wiped some tears away.

"It's not you, or me, or us, El." he told her, rubbing her back. "when you went in for your check ups, you were fine. You were doing everything right. Your doctor doesn't even know why it happened," he said. "We've got the rest of our lives together for another baby. This time we just.. weren't so lucky."

She cried for a while until she finally came to a stop and calmed herself down. "Sorry." she said, referring to how she kept crying on him, lol. "I'm going to try to stay strong." she nodded. "All this crying won't do anything and I'm going to have to learn how to move on."
