The Loss

Scott grabbed his jacket and went out with Punk.

Once they made it in the car, Punk sped to the hospital and parked the car. They then headed in and he looked for Lacy. He spotted her and made his way over. "Anything?"

Lacy shook her head. "They're not telling me anything."

He sighed and nodded. "Sorry we didn't answer. They were messing with the tools there and we didn't hear our phones. What happened?"

"She called me crying and she said she was bleeding and I just rushed over there." Lacy said.

"I need to go see her." Scott said as he went off.

Punk sighed and sat down next to Lacy. All they could do was wait, unless Colt was able to go get information.

About two hours later, Scott was beyond frustrated. He hadn't gotten any news on Ellie. Finally, a doctor came out.

"Is she okay? What happened?" Scott asked the doctor.

"We did everything we could, Mr. Colton, but.. Ms. Hardy lost her baby."

"Oh, my God." Lacy shook her head and covered her mouth.

"I.. what? No, she was fine, what are you talking about?" Scott asked in disbelief.

"Sometimes these things happen, sir... there's no rhyme or reason to these things sometimes. I'm so sorry. You can see her in room 500 if you need to, but only you." The doctor said before leaving.

Punk looked on in disbelief, holding Lacy to him to comfort her because he knew she was shocked as well. "...Scott, I'm so sorry." he said. It was all he could say at the moment.

Scott didn't really know what to think at the moment. All he knew was that he need to go see Ellie. Without another word, he went off to room 500 to see Ellie.

Ellie was laying on the bed, facing the other way. After she had received the news, she obviously was heartbroken over it and she didn't want to be bothered with all the doctors coming in and out, so she didn't want to face the door.

He went into the room and saw her facing away from him. "Ellie?" he called tentatively for her. "Baby, it's me."

The second she heard his voice, she broke down again and shook her head.

"Baby.." he sighed and went over to her, sitting on the edge of the bed and gently gathering her to him. "I'm so sorry."

"It's all my fault." she cried as she held onto him tightly. "I killed our baby, Scott. I'm so sorry." she sobbed.

"It's not your fault." he told her. "The doctor said you were doing everything right... sometimes stuff like this just happens."

"No, it doesn't just happen." she said. "I was the one carrying the baby and something went wrong. It's all my fault.' she sniffled.

"Ellie." he said firmly. "You did nothing wrong, okay?" he hated to be so stern, but he had to be strong for the both of them. "It just... it just wasn't time for us to do this right now."

She didn't even wanna hear it, she already felt guilty. "It was going to be your first baby and I took that away from you." she sighed as she wiped some of her tears away and kept crying.

"You weren't exactly drinking and punching yourself in the stomach, El." he said as he rubbed her back. "We're getting married. We've got the rest of our lives for you to give me my first child and then some. C'mon, baby." he made her look at up and wiped her tears, kissing her forehead, then the tip of her nose and finally, her lips. "I love you, and I'm not mad at you because it's not your fault. It was beyond our control."

She sighed and didn't say anything. She just hugged him and rested her head on his shoulder. "How are you feeling?" she asked. Obviously, she was a mess, but she worried about how he was too because it affected both of them and they had to get through it together.

"Numb." He told her honestly. "I'm here for you right now."

She nodded a bit. "You don't have to put up a front with me, you know." she said softly. "We both have to get through this together. Just like you'll be here for me, I'll be here for you." she said with a nod.

"I know. Just.. let me be there for you right now." he said as he kissed the top of her head.

She nodded and just stayed in his arms for a while. She was still upset and cried on and off...now she was just emotionally drained. "I think I should try to get some sleep." she sighed.

"I'm not going anywhere." he said as he continued to hold her.
