Finding Out

Candice was excited for her doctor's appointment today. Not only would she be making sure that the baby was okay and everything was going well, but Jeff was going to be with her this time. She fixed her shirt as they made it to the office building, then headed to the doctor's office. "Excited?" she asked Jeff.

He nodded with a smile. "Damn right I am...I can't wait." he admitted excitedly.

"I can't either." she smiled as she walked into the office and gave her name, then sat as they waited.

He gently took her hand and kissed it.

She smiled at him. "I'm happy you were able to come today."

"Me too...sorry about last time..."

"It's perfectly fine, really."

He nodded, holding her hand.

They waited a few moments until she was called to the back. "That's us, come on." she said as she headed to the back room.

He nodded, getting up and heading back with Candice.

Once they got to the back room, Candice went to lay on the examination table and they checked everything else on her. The set up the ultrasound machine and the nurse went to get the doctor. "I'll be right back." she told them.

He nodded, holding his wife's hand.

"I can't wait for you to hear the heartbeat." she grinned. "It is so surreal to me."

He grinned. "Me too...has the baby started kicking yet?"

"Not yet. Which I'm glad hasn't happened yet, I wouldn't want you to miss it when it happens the first time."

He smiled. "I hope I'm there for it..."

"I really hope so too." she said as the doctor came back in. "Alrighty, here we go." she smiled as she put the ointment on Candice's belly, causing Candice to laugh a bit at the coldness, then used the machine to check Candice.

He smiled as well, looking with Candice and the doctor.

As the doctor was checking Candice she pointed at the screen. "Okay, there's your baby. Looks good so far." she said and continued to check. "Oh...that's strange."

"Strange? See...I'm strange...but strange with the unborn baby might not be a good thing."

"Jeff..." Candice laughed a little, but looked at the doctor worriedly. "Is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine, but I'm just noticing something that I didn't before. Just checking to see if I'm correct before I tell you."

"What?" he chuckled.

The doctor nodded and smiled. "Well, I'm correct. You two are having twins."

"Uh....UH?"

"I'm sorry, what?"

"You are having twins. Two children, one child and another child." she chuckled.

Candice was shocked in disbelief. "Twins?"

"Mhm. Healthy twins at that."
