Just Ask

Maryse was backstage at tonight's Pay Per View, talking to Shannon. While she was closer to the divas, she was friends with a few of the guys. They were talking about different things and Maryse was all smiles and laughs as Shannon entertained her. To others, it looked like they were flirting, but they were simply just friends and nothing else. Besides, Shannon had a girlfriend and Maryse already mentioned that she liked Mike. As they kept talking, Maryse didn't notice that somebody was coming towards them.

Mike had heard Maryse and went to go say hi and maybe ask to take her to dinner later. Then he saw her with...SHANNON MOORE?! Really?! Really? REALLY. The smile disappeared as he approached them. He figured after Thanksgiving, Maryse and him were...kinda together. Maybe he shouldn't have assumed so much and figured it was the turkey coma talking. "Hey guys...sorry if I'm intruding." he said, almost snapped it.

Maryse glanced over at Mike and gave him a confused look. What was that all about?

"No, you weren't man." Shannon said as he shook his head. "I'm off for my match anyway." he nodded as he turned to Maryse again. "We'll talk later about that thing though." he said and then walked away after she nodded.

"Uh, why did you like...snap?" she asked.

"I didn't snap." he shot back. "Look...just...I thought you and I...we had something..."

"Well I thought so too, but you're...being all weird now and have some kind of attitude." she said. "I don't know why."

"Because I came over to say hey, let's go out to dinner...like on an official date and you're over here flirting with Shannon Moore of all people!" he exclaimed.

She was taken aback when he raised his voice. "Flirting? With Shannon?" she asked as she couldn't help but laugh. "First of all, Shannon is a nice guy, so yes...of all people, I was talking to him. That's all I was doing. Talking, not flirting." she told him.

"Well what were you two "talking" about then?"

She folded her arms across her chest, not amused that she was being like...interrogated. "We were talking about different things. Some work related and some not work related. What else do you want to know officer?" she asked.

He rolled his eyes. "Look...I didn't come over here to fight with you. Though now with the way we are, I don't even know why I wanted to come over here and ask you!"

"Ask me what?"

"I was going to ask you on a dinner date because I wanted to be with you, but boy with the way this is going, this possible relationship doesn't look promising!"

"Well clearly not because you're being such a jerk and accusing me of flirting with him."

"Because that's what it looked like!" he snapped back. "God, I must be insane to wanna be with someone like you."

She scoffed, a little hurt. "What does that mean?"

"Have you not been hearing what I've been saying? I want to be with you!"

See, Maryse...whenever she heard that from guys in the past, it was either just to have some sort of fling or for guys to sweet talk her, then have those stupid one night stands and that was it. So, she had kind of ignored it when he said it the first time, blowing it off, until he said it again. "...yeah for how long?" she asked as she let out a bitter chuckle. "Long enough to let all your buddies know that you had me and then kick me to the curb?"

"Wait, what? Maryse...this is ME." he pointed out. "I wouldn't do that to you. I'm the one willing to point out all your bull shit and call you out when you get on my nerves. You think I would do that if I only wanted to get laid?"

She shrugged. "Just happened to me a lot in the past."

"I get that...but this is now...and what guy who has just wanted sex has picked a fight with you first?" he pointed out.

"Hm...that is a good point. It'd be very weird."

"Exactly...but now I don't even know if it'll be worth but dammit I want to be with you." he said before pulling her close and kissing her.

"Then we're both in for a crazy ride." she muttered as she kissed him back.

He smiled, pulling away. "Yeah...well I'm nuts." he smirked. "So...I wanted to ask you..."

"Ask me?..."
