Another One

"It's fine, I couldn't sleep much anyway." he said. "What time are you going to pick up the kids?"

"Soon as I get dressed. Stay in bed, you need to rest for your flight tonight."

"Meh, I'm already awake." he said as he got out of bed.

"Fine. No point in fighti--" Back to the bathroom like a madwoman.

He frowned....cause that noise was pretty nasty...but also cause that was the second time already. He went to the bathroom and held her hair back for her and patted her back a bit.

Regardless of the fact that she had just rolled out of bed, hadn't had any makeup on or combed her hair at all...not looking her best... she was more embarrassed over the fact that Phil had now seen -this- side of her... on the bathroom floor with her head in the toilet. While some stupid part of her wished that he would ignore the fact that she ran off mid-sentence to pray to the porcelain gods, she knew that he didn't when she felt him rub her back and pull her hair out of her face. Now, not only was her face flushed red from what just happened, it was also red from embarrassment.

After what seemed like forever (but was actually only four or five minutes), the heaving finally seemed to stop and she flushed the toilet before slouching over to lean her head against the wall, trying to catch her breath.

He frowned a bit. "Shit, that is some bug you have." he said. "They didn't give you anything for it?" he asked as he grabbed a cloth and ran it under the water, then gave it to her.

"It'll pass." She sighed and took the towel from him to cool her face and wipe her mouth.

"I hope so. If not, I'm taking you to the doctor again."

"For them to tell me that I have a bug again?" Nice thing to call a fetus. "It will pass. I promise. It's just really rough right now." She started to stand.

"Alright." he said....he's still concerned. "You think you'll be okay to get the kids? If not, I can go by myself."

She nodded. "I'm fine, I'm fine." She brushed her teeth, again, and used more mouthwash. The morning sickness was just as off-putting to her as it was to Phil because she didn't get sick with Brandon and Allison. "Gonna go now."

He nodded. "Let me get dressed then." he said as he went to change.

When he went to go change, Lacy went into the medicine cabinet and pulled out a white, unlabeled bottle. Prenatal vitamins. She hated taking them, the pills were like the size of her fuckin' pinky. She swallowed it down and drank a bit of water before screwing the top back on and placing back into the cabinet. She was intent on keeping the news to herself until his birthday but if she kept randomly throwing up everywhere then it might be hard to keep a secret.

She came back out into the room, looking rather drowsy and grabbed a stick of gum. "Almost done?"

"All set." he said as he finished typing his sneakers. "Looks like naptime when we get back." he joked.

"Yes, nap time for Allison." She chuckled and grabbed her keys.

He chuckled and shook his head. "I'll drive."

She handed him the keys, surprisingly with no argument and went downstairs to the garage.

He went to the garage and opened the doors, then got inside the car. "So who are we picking up first?"

"Whichever kid you feel like strapping in first." She chuckled and got in the car.

"We'll get Brandon first, then Allison...that way we can just come straight home."

"Sounds like a plan to me."

"Okay, great." he said as he started driving.

"How long are you on the road this time?" She asked, leaning her head against the window.

"I think it's just two days." he said. "I'm just doing some promoting."
