Kidnapping Her [Lacy/Ellie]

Lacy had walked into the bar wearing black jeans and a white v-neck shirt with a black sweater on over it. She had gone down to Georgia for the weekend to visit Ellie, since apparently she had been having some personal issues and she assumed that Ellie had wanted to talk about them. She had chosen a quiet, more "grown up" bar instead of the usual loud bar that they'd always found themselves at. One, Lacy didn't feel like dealing with any drunken idiots asking them for pictures, autographs, or trying to cop a feel on either one of them. Didn't feel like killing anyone tonight. Two, she would hope that the more relaxed environment would prompt Ellie not to get shitfaced drunk. lol.

She sat at the bar and ordered a ginger ale, and waited for Ellie to arrive.

Before Ellie left the house, she made sure to put the kids to sleep and make sure AJ was okay. She then showered and changed into her outfit and finally left. She made it to the bar and spotted Lacy. She smiled and waved as she approached her. "Lacy." she smiled.

Lacy put her drink down and stood to greet Ellie. "Hey, El." she gave her a hug. "How are you?"

"I'm good. Trying not to go crazy." she chuckled as she hugged her back, then let go. "How about you?"

"The same." She smirked as she sat back down. "But I was instructed to kidnap you, so now I need to know why."

"I just need to get out of the house." she shrugged.

"Because..." She prodded.

"Because I'm just stressed out." she chuckled.

"Ellie, be freakin' specific." She chuckled a little bit. "What's going on at the house?"

"It's just like...I feel like I'm just there all the time." she shrugged. "I mean yeah, I make the occasional trips to see you and hang out, but then when I'm here alone...it gets frustrating. Plus now, AJ is home recovering from his accident and I'm just tired....I'm tired of having to do everything in the house. I mean, it's my fault, but I don't know...I want a break."

Lacy listened and nodded, trying to think of what to say without sounding like a jerk. She'd heard this from Ellie before (minus the AJ part) and she understood because Lacy had felt lonely at one point, too. Really lonely. She finally figured out what to say, or at least she thought she did. "El, first and foremost, that accident was nobody's fault. Things happen. You and AJ were thinking with your emotions instead of your brains and unfortunately, that terrible thing had to happen. The good thing is, he's going to make it through, because we all know that it could have ended up a lot worse and if it did, we'd be having a completely different conversation right now."

She looked down. "El, I don't know how to say this without sounding like a bitch, so I'm just going to say it. I know the whole housewife and mother thing is something completely different from what you expected. It's different from what I expected, too, and you realize how lonely it gets without your husband, but when you quit your job as a Diva, that's the sacrifice you had to make. I mean, at least when you were working, you and AJ were on the same schedule. You saw each other all of the time. Phil and I were on completely different shows, completely different schedules... so in a way, I was used to being alone.

But I get how it is. You go from working, always being on the go and traveling around the world to just being... static. At a standstill. Changing diapers and keeping the house clean, keeping his side of the bed warm. Is that how you feel right now?"

She nodded. "It's how I feel all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love being with the kids and everything, but I don't want to play their mom and their dad." she sighed.

"You been doing it for the longest, Ellie." Lacy finished her ginger ale and set the glass to the side. "I mean, I know you talked about it with AJ, cause he got upset and left and the accident happened. I know you're staying with him, pretty much so the kids can grow up in a normal, if you can call it that, environment. But El, you've gotta be happy, too. Are you sure the relationship is worth holding on to?"

She shrugged. "Don't know what I want anymore."

"I don't really know what to tell you." She shrugged as the bartender refilled her drink. "What you're doing right now... it's not fair to AJ. He shouldn't love someone who doesn't love him."

"I do love him." she nodded. "It's just...I get angry with him and that's my problem. If I didn't love him, I would have left for good."

"You've been pretty damn close, but," she put her hands up in defense. "It's just my two cents. I'm not going to tell you how to live your life."

"Yeah." she said. "Anyway...." she said changing the subject. "What have you been up to?" she asked as she ordered a drink.

"Nothin'," she shrugged indifferently. No, she was not going to tell her about her meltdown. Way to make a conversation go from bad to worse.

"Nothing?" she chuckled. "There has to be something."

"Phil's home more often. That's about it." She laughed a little as she sipped on her drink.

"Aw well that's good. I'm glad you guys are okay."

"We're getting there." She chuckled as she looked down at her drink. She decided she'd tell her. "Would you hate me if I told you that I tried to off myself?" She asked bluntly. She had no idea how else to say it.

"You didn't hate me when I tried to do it to myself." she said. "May I ask why you did that?"

She shrugged as she continued to stare into her glass. "Lost my head for a minute. Wasn't thinking clearly and tried to overdose. It's a little messed up, because I'm generally the one with the clear head. I'm the one that talks people out of things and gets them to see the other side, and here I am trying to take the easy road out."
