Unexpected.

It had been a couple of months since Conner and Ashley got married. They told their parents and so far their plan was working great, their parents believed that they were in love and were a happy couple. Anyway, they both continued to work for the company, having matches and appearances and all that. Now that Ashley and Conner were home, they had some free time. All the rules they had for their marriage was still the same, nothing changed. However, what Ashley didn't expect was for this to happen. Currently, Ashley was in the bathroom, waiting for her pregnancy test results to come up. She was super late, she had been late before and didn't think anything of it, but after a month...yeah, something was up.

She wasn't ready for a kid right now, but if she was pregnant, she was going to keep it...whether Conner liked it or not. Crap, he wasn't going to be ready either. Two minutes passed and she checked.

"Positive, great." she said with a sigh. She was pregnant. Now she had to break the news to Conner. "Fabulous." she muttered as she took the test and put it in the box, putting it in her cabinet of the bathroom.

Conner was coming back from the gym. All he wanted to do was enjoy a nap and have a bite to eat. He got inside and looked around. "Ashley? You home?" he called.

She heard Conner call her. "Yeah, just in the bathroom." she called out. "I'll be there in a second." she said as she turned off the light in the bathroom and headed downstairs. "Hey." she said as she saw him.

He smiled a bit. "Hey...you alright? You look a little sick." he said, going to the fridge and grabbed a water bottle.

"I've been a little under the weather lately."

"Oh...need some meds or do you need to call a doctor?"

"Actually no, I don't need any of that." she said. "I know what's wrong with me. I'm pregnant." she told him.

He almost choked on his water. "WHAT?!"

"I'm pregnant." she repeated. "I just took the test before you came home. Well I took like three of them actually."

"Wha- how?! We always use protection!"

"I don't know. Maybe we didn't once or a condom broke or whatever. I don't know what happened, it's not like I planned this."

He sighed. "Ashley, I'm not ready to be a dad...this was never supposed to happen...how the hell are we gonna get a divorce with a kid on the way?! Unless...well...it's not far along enough...you can get rid of it."

Ashley shook her head and scoffed in disgust. "I'm not getting rid of it. I'm perfectly fine with raising this baby on my own, instead of it having a douchebag of a father." she said with a bitter chuckle. "You think I'm ready for a kid? I wasn't expecting this to happen."

"Well if neither of us are ready for it, get rid of it." he said thinking it was the most logical option.

"I've already told you I'm not doing that. I'm taking my part of the responsibility for this baby, hell...I'll take all the responsibility if you're going to be such a jackass."

He just glared at her. "Fine...fuck you...I'm going out for a while." he said, grabbing his jacket and going out the door, slamming it.

She winced a little as she heard the door slam and just shook her head. She wasn't expecting him to be happy, but she definitely did not expect all that. She rolled her eyes and went to get some water, to calm herself down a bit. She was hurt that he even mentioned to get rid of the baby. What a jerk. She drank her water and wanted to go lay down a bit, the stress or arguing with him and getting herself worked up, wasn't any good for her or the baby. Ashley didn't care if Conner came back at this point.

Conner went out for a few hours, smoking a cigarette to calm himself down. As he smoked and walked around, he got to thinking about it. Yelling at her like that probably wasn't good for the baby...and then he looked at his cigarette. That probably wasn't so great for her now either. Maybe he pushed things too far trying to get her to get an abortion. She did say she was willing to be the sole caretaker and do everything. But he'd be willing to help financially. He just didn't want to be directly involved with the baby. He decided to pick up a few things.

He went to the pharmacy and threw away his cigarettes. He picked up some packs of the nicotine gum and the patches. Then he went to another store and picked up a box of chocolates and a small bouquet of white lillies. He got back to the house and took a deep breath before pulling everything into one arm and going back inside.

"Ashley?" he called back.

Ashley rolled her eyes to herself a little. Now what? "In the bedroom." she called out.

He took a breath and headed up to the bedroom. He knocked on the door. "Can I come in?"

"Yeah."

He came in with the stuff in his arms. "Uh...hey..."

"Hi?" she muttered, not looking at him.

He cleared his throat so she would look at him. "Um...I wanted to say sorry...for the way the, uh...conversation went. I shouldn't have yelled at you and stormed out like I did."

She turned to look at him. "It's fine. I wasn't expecting you to be happy or anything, I was just more surprised that you want to get rid of the baby." she shrugged. "Whatever, I'll get over it."
