Catching Up (Katie and Candice)

Katie walked with Jake to Candice's locker room. She heard her best friend was back from the tour in Europe and she couldn't wait to see her and catch up her up on everything that's happened since she's been gone. Katie got to the locker room then knocked on the door.

Candice tossed her gear into her locker when she heard the knock on the door. "It's open!" She called cheerfully.

Katie opened the door then walked in with Jake.

"Is my greatest best friend in the world Candice Michelle Hardy really back?" Katie asked with a smile.

"Hi Auntie Candy." Jake said as he waved at her with a wide smile.

"Ah!" Candice squealed, turning around to embrace Katie and Jake. "Aw I've missed you guys. And holy cow, when did Jake get so big!" She tickled his belly. "What are you, ten now?"

"I'm almost one." Jake said with a laugh.

"We've missed you too Candy, so very much." Katie said.

"I was stuck with Greg, in a car and on a plane...I so missed you more." Candice joked, before turning her attention back to Jake. "Almost one? That's way too big! Hmm...is that too old for presents?"

"Stuck with Greg? Poor you." Katie said.

"No. I needs lots of presents." Jake said.

"Well Dave was there and whenever Greg wouldn't shut up, he'd get whacked." Candice chuckled. "And I didn't get to room with Soraya, which while she's not Jeff, it could have been worse."

"And lots of presents, huh? Well, it just so happens, I might have brought something back from Europe for my favorite nephew." Candice smiled at Jake.

"I'd rather room with Soraya then Greg. We probably wouldn't have allowed you to sleep because he'd want to talk all night." Katie said.

"Yay!" Jake yelled before he hugged Candice.

"You're my favorite Auntie." Jake said.

"Lucky for me, and unlucky for Dave and Evan, Greg roomed with them." Candice chuckled. "And you, Jeff and Matt were all to far away."

"Aw thank you, Jake. Want to know what I got you?" Candice reached into her locker to pull out the brightly wrapped package. "I got these blocks in Germany, all carved with animals on them, so you can make like an animal castle."

"You should have called I would have paid the extra money for calls in Europe. Randy wouldn't have had to know." Katie said with a chuckle.

Jake's eyes lit up then ripped open the present.

"Thank you Auntie Candy!" Jake yelled before he started building the blocks.

"See, and here I was thinking Randy would have bit my head off." Candice joked. "And you're welcome, Jake."

"No it would have been more of a punt to your head but I love you so I wouldn't have let him do it." Katie said with a smile.

Candice shuddered. "Jeff would have been mad too if Randy punted me." She joked. "And I love you too. I missed having you to talk to. Tell me what's been going on? I'm incredibly out of the loop these days."

"Well let's have this be the first surprise." Katie said as she lifted her left hand up and revealed a wedding ring on her finger.

Candice's jaw dropped. "You got married?! Oh my God!" She hugged Katie. "Congratulations!" She pulled back enough to look serious. "It is to Randy right?" She said teasingly.

"Of course and thank you." Katie said with a giggle.

"Second...you had better be there in the delivery room in nine months with me and Randy this time." Katie said.

"Of course I will, try and stop me!" Candice laughed.

"Well if I wanted to be evil I could give the security guards a picture of you and not let you in." Katie said with a chuckle.

"I beat them all up, then pout because you'd try and block me." Candice chuckled.

"Aw and I don't like seeing you pout because that means your sad. My best buddy can't ever be sad it's illegal." Katie said.

"Aw Katie!" Candice laughed and hugged her again. "I've missed you so much."

Katie hugged Candice back.

"I missed you too! If you ever go away again I'll track you down and force you to come back." Katie said with a chuckle.
