Injured.. Again. [anyone]

"I guess she's alright." he shrugged as he sat down at the table.

Mimi exchanges a look with Shannon.

"What's wrong?" Shannon asked.

"I think she's just upset with herself for getting injured." he shrugged.

"So why do you look annoyed?"

"She just doesn't want to be bothered with me right now and I'm trying to help, but whatever. I give up."

"What do you mean you give up?" Mimi asked in confusion.

"I mean I just give up trying to make her feel better. I get that injuries suck and all that, I've had a couple before, but she doesn't want to listen or anything. I'll still help her recover and everything, but if she doesn't want me telling her it's okay and she'll be alright, then I won't say it."

"Maybe she's just.. mad." Mimi bit her lip.

He sighs.

"I don't even know. I still don't understand her at times, she just sort of shouldn't take it out on me. I'm only trying to help."

Mimi looks at Shannon for help, not knowing what to say.

Shannon just shrugs.

"I wouldn't know, but just give her some time to cool off and just get better. I'm sure she'll be a bit more friendlier. At least she's high on meds now, she could have been meaner." he joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Phil chuckled and nodded.

"You're right about that."

Mimi chuckled slightly. "You aren't mad at me, are you Phil?"

"No I'm not mad at you Mimi." he chuckled.

"It was just an accident. Don't worry about it."

"Alright." She bit her lip slightly as the doctor walked back out.

"Sorry but visiting hours are over." The doctor said curtly. "Will anyone be here for the surgery tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I'll be here." Phil said.

"Surgery is for six am. Think you can make it now?" He raises an eyebrow.

"Yes, I'm pretty sure I can make it."

"Well we'll see you tomorrow."

Phil shook the doctor's hand as he walked away.

"So I guess we should head back."

"Yeah. I can get Lacy's bag from out of the locker room for you when we get back." Mimi offered.

"Thanks Mimi. I'll definitely bring it when I come back. Who knows maybe I'll just go shower and change and come back, maybe sleep in the car for the night at the parking lot here."

Mimi smiles lightly as she resists the urge to 'aw'.

Shannon chuckled.

"Dude, you are so whipped."

"Am not. I just want to be here when I need to be. That way I'm not so far away from her."

"I think it's sweet, not whipped." Mimi shrugs, feeling comfortable with them. "You'd do the same thing for your girlfriend, Shannon."

"Yeah, but I'm too much of a goof and she may think I'm being weird or something is wrong with me. Besides, there is no girl interested in me, so I don't bother."

Phil shrugged.

"You'll find someone eventually."
