An Upsetting Bump In (Katie and Ellie)

Katie got out of her car and closed the door slowly as she looked around. She gulped as she walked up to the hospital's entrance. After getting sick fro the last couple days she finally decided to go to a doctor to see what was up. On her way in she bumped into someone then looked over to see her sister Ellie.

"Sorry." she said as she looked up.

"Katie?"

"Ellie?" Katie asked.

She looked at her little sister for a couple seconds.

"How have you been?" Katie asked.

"Hanging in there." she shrugged.

"How are you?" she asked looking at her.

"The same I guess." Katie muttered as she looked down.

She looked back up at Ellie.

"How's the baby?" Katie asked.

She sighed, not wanting to tell her.

"Uh, so what are you here for?" she asked quickly changing the subject.

"I've been sick for a couple days...so I'm going to see a doctor." Katie said.

She gulped as she ran a hand through her hair.

"Why are you here?" Katie asked.

"I just had to come check on some stuff." she said.

"Why?"

Katie shrugged.

"You asked so I thought I would...you're okay after that night right?" Katie asked

"Katie, can we just not talk about it? I don't wanna-" she said as she paused.

Katie nodded before she turned.

"I...don't really want to talk about it either." Katie said.

"I know." she said hugging her.

"I'm sorry that it happened to you." she said quietly.

Katie held onto Ellie.

"Thank you...I'm sorry about what happened to you too." Katie muttered.

She shrugged.

"It's okay. Yours was more serious, don't worry about me."

"What happened to you is just as serious as what happened to me." Katie said.

She smiled softly.

"Alrighty then, if you insist."

Katie looked around then looked back at Ellie.

"You think you could go in with me? I'm still...a little scared." Katie said.

"Of course." she nodded as she linked arms with her.

"We have to go through this together."

Katie nodded.

"Yes we do. I'm so glad to have you as a little sis." Katie said.

She smiled.

"And I'm glad to have you as a big sis." she nodded as she squeezed her hand a bit.

Katie squeezed Ellie's hand back a little as she walked up to the front desk. She looked at the lady.

"Um...I'm Katie Hardy and I have an appointment at 4:10." Katie said.

The lady looked at her.

"Oh yes, right. Just take a seat and we'll call you when your time is up." she smiled.

Ellie walked over to the waiting area with Katie.

"Ugh, being here sucks. Too many memories." she groaned.

"I agree, I hate hospitals." Katie said.

"We've gotta do what we've gotta do." she shrugged.

"So where have you been staying?"

"Jeff's...even though Randy's come back from Europe." Katie said.
