Hard to Handle

It was late at night and Ellie was in bed, laying on her stomach and watching tv. She was watching a rerun of Total Divas since she missed it earlier, taking the kids to Lacy's. Maddie and Ajay wanted to sleepover and Sophia threw a fit when Ellie wasn't going to let her stay, but Punk said it was okay, so all the kids were there. Now, she could finally catch up without the interruption of children for the night, lol. Colt eventually came into the room and she let out a dramatic sigh as she watched. "I wish Cena was into kids, then I could have had a chance with him." she teased.

"Nice." He snorted. "Well you're stuck with me." He said. He'd been in a bit of a mood lately.

"I'm just teasing." She said. "You know I only have eyes for you." She told him. "You okay?"

"Peachy." He said. He'd been in a mood lately.

"....okay." She said and went back to watching tv. A while later Colt's phone rang and Ellie reached over to pass it to him.

He accepted it and didn't recognize the number, but answered anyway. "Hello?"

"Yes, hi. This is Courtney calling on behalf of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Is this Scott Colton?"

"Um, yes?" He looked confused. "May I ask why you're calling?"

"Sir, I'm sorry to inform you of this, but your mother has suffered a stroke and was brought in to us about twenty minutes ago." she said. 'Your father is here and we do not have any other information to release at this time, since they are working on her." she told him. Yeah, Colt has a Dad and he's around but hates going out, lol.

He jumped up from the bed. "What?! Is she okay?!" though they just said they didn't have any information to release over the phone, lol.

Ellie looked over and frowned in confusion, worried as to what was going on.

"We don't know right now, sir. You can come down though and we should have some information by then."

"Ugh, I'll be there in a minute." he said as he hung up and started to gather his stuff hurriedly.

"Scott? What's wrong? Who was that?" she asked.

"My mom is in the hospital and i have to go see her." he said as he grabbed his keys and started to rush downstairs to the garage.

She blinked and got up real quick. "Wait, I'll go with you." she said as she quickly put on her sneakers to head out.

"Stay here." he said sharply as he went into the garage and slammed the door behind him.

She frowned and was taken aback by his reaction, but she also did understand he must have been scared and worried, so she let it go. She stayed like he told her to and tried to remain calm. Since Ellie never had a mother growing up, Marcia was her mother to her and she was worried too. Hopefully she'd get some updates soon when Colt came back.

Scott rushed to the hospital and when he got there, he rushed up to the receptionist desk. "I'm here for Marcia Colton. Is she okay?"

"The only information we have is that she is stabilized but still in critical condition."

He sighed in frustration. "Is anyone else here?"

"They're all in the back with your Mom. You can have a seat with your father until somebody comes out to see you."

He huffed and went to the waiting room, where he saw his was. He talked to his dad, but he wasn't as close to him as he was his mother. "Hey." He grunted and sat down heavily in the chair next to him.

"Hi son." He said. "I was told we might find out something in a half hour or so."

"We -might-? What kind of fucking answer is that?"

"It's just that it may be a little longer. It's a rough estimate."
