What If? VI

Ellie bit at her nails nervously as she waited for the timer on her phone to go off. She was currently at the bar where she worked with Lacy, pacing around in the bathroom. The past three months flew by for her. She had started dating Colt officially and things were going well for them. They were taking it slow....until one night the power went out and well, they managed to find a way to occupy themselves. That was a month ago. Earlier in the week, Ellie had called out of work and when Lacy checked up on her, she joked to Ellie that maybe she was pregnant. She didn't think anything of it until Lacy mentioned it and she had been freaking out since then. Today she finally decided to buy a few tests and take them before she started work. The timer went off and she let out a sigh, walking over to them as they laid on the counter. She looked down at them and saw that there were two lines. "What the fuck does that mean?" she muttered to herself as she looked at the box. "Oh fuck. Holy shit. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god..." she said to herself. "I'm fucking pregnant." she said and felt like she was going to puke or cry. Probably both. She grabbed her stuff and her tests, then left the bathroom, rushing over to where Lacy was. "I'm freaking out!" she told her and put the tests down for Lacy to see.

Lacy looked over at her run out and looked at the pregnancy tests. She blinked. "Seriously?"

She just nodded. "I need a brown paper bag." she said as she started to gasp for air, lol. "I think I'm having a panic attack or a heart attack. Oh my god, I'm dying."

"Calm down, calm down." Lacy said as she tapped her arm lightly. "Freaking out isn't doing anything. Why the hell would you have sex with this guy without protection? No condom? No birth control? No nothing?"

"I was on birth control." she said. "But then, I got sick last month too and I was on antibiotics and it must have interfered or something." she told her.

She sighed. "What are you going to do?"

She sighed. "I don't know. I mean, I think I do know." she said. "I can't get rid of it. It's just not something I could do." she told her. "And I have to tell Scott."

"I think you should talk to him and figure it out from there."

"Yeah, I think that's probably the best thing to do. He said he'll pick me up when we're done here since he doesn't want me taking the train so late, especially when I'm sick." she told her. "So, I'll tell him tonight."

"You can't work here pregnant, you know. All the smoke? C'mon."

"I know. I'll start looking for another job." she nodded. "Besides, they don't want some knocked up chick here." she shook her head. "I'll probably leave here and just work at the diner."

She frowned. "You should just call scott to pick you up. I'll cover you."

"Lace, but I need the money." she said.

"I'll work your shift too and give you your check. Come on, get out of here."

She sighed but nodded. "Let me just text him first to see if he's around the area yet." she said and texted him. Hey, I'm still feeling gross and Lacy offered to cover for me. Are you around?

Okay, I'll be outside then.

She grabbed her jacket to put it on and grabbed her purse. "He's on his way, so I'm going to wait outside. I'll text you later." she told Lacy.

"Okay." She said. "Let me know how it goes."

"I shall. Hopefully it's not too bad. Scott is a nice guy so we'll see."

"For his and your kid's sakes I hope he is, because I'd hate to have to kill him."

"Well, we'll have to wait and see." she chuckled a bit. "Talk to you later." she said as she headed out to wait in the front for him.

Scott pulled up shortly after and unlocked his doors, reaching over and opening it for her.

She went over to the car and got in. "Hi." She said as she smiled a little and kissed his cheek. "Thanks for coming to get me now."

"Of course." he reached over and squeezed his thigh. "Lets get you home."

She nodded. "Sounds good."
