Clearing the Mind

"Maybe." he chuckled as he let Tigger down to run around. "

"Mhm and we missed you too, Daddy!" Maddie smiled.

"Mhm, a lot." Ajay added. "Mommy keep saying you were coming home yesterday but you took forever." He sighed dramatically.

"I'm sorry." He chuckled and kissed their foreheads. "How's a day at the Pier sound, since I was soooo late."

"Ohhhhh, I like that." Ajay nodded.

"It would definitely make up for being late." Maddie said.

"Good." he chuckled. "Finish your breakfast and then you can go start getting ready."

"Oh okay!"

"We gonna go on all the rides!" Ajay said excitedly.

"Only if you eat all your food and get dressed."

They pretty much stuffed their faces and then showed Colt their plates and then ran upstairs to get dressed.

"Geez." Ellie chuckled a bit.

Scott snorted. "Such lovely children." he said as he wrapped his arms around her. "You okay?"

"Mhm, I'm fine." she said as she wrapped her arms around him as well. "Just a little tired, but I'll manage."

"I'll get the kids out of your hair and you can rest a little while we're gone." he kissed her cheek.

She shook her head. "I have to meet up with Lacy in a bit, so no rest." she chuckled.

"Ellie." he frowned. "Cancel. You need rest."

"It's one errand." she said. "After that I'll come home and try to rest, I promise."

He shook his head but relented. "Fine. Go run your errands and then it's straight to bed."

"I will." she nodded. "And if I don't, then you can yell at me." she chuckled.

"I won't yell. Now go, I'll clean up."

"Okay." she said and then kissed his cheek. "Thank you." she said as she grabbed her car keys and would start heading out to Lacy's place.

Scott started to clean up after she left.

Ellie headed over to Lacy's house and texted her to let her know that she was outside.

Maddie and Ajay came down a few minutes later, dressed decently.

"Oh Daddyyyyyy." Maddie said.

"We go!" Ajay said excitedly.

"Be good for grandma." Lacy said before closing the door and heading out to Ellie's car, getting in the passenger's seat. "Hey."

Scott was washing dishes when they came downstairs. "Did you brush your teeth and wash your face, guys?"

"Hola friend." she said. "I'm surprised the kids are letting you out of their sight." she joked.

"Yep." they both nodded.

"Do you need help with the dishes, Daddy?" Maddie asked.

"They don't care about me." She said. "Brandon is reminding us why he's Phil's son. Being angry at everything. Jack and Carly have learned the word 'no' so they won't listen to anything we say and Allison killed her fish that she's only had for a week."

"No, but you can go pick up your playroom."

"Geez." she said. "So many different phases at once. Poor fish." she chuckled a bit as she started to drive.

"Okay." Maddie shrugged and went to go pick up.

"Me too?" Ajay asked.

"Yeah. Apparently she wanted to take him out and play so she did and watched him flop around. She thought he was trying to do tricks so she left him out. She literally watched him die." she snorted.
