Spending the Night In

Scott was stumped as to what to do with Ellie for a date that they would actually be out by themselves for. He'd taken her to Navy Pier with the kids, they'd done a baseball game and the arcade with Punk and Lacy, and he wasn't really much of a romantic dinner guy... at least, not on the third date.

He decided that instead of dealing with people outside and taking her to the movies, he invited her over to his place to watch a movie, just the two of them. Not very extravagant, but he thought she'd like it. He'd even let her pick out the movie. He had the popcorn in the microwave and was making sure his living room was tidied up as the doorbell rang, and he was sure that it was Ellie. He blew out a breath and wiped his hands on his jeans, before going over to the door and opening it, seeing Ellie. "Hey, you."

"Oh thank god this is the right door." she chuckled. "...the old man next to you...well...he was friendly, but creepy friendly." she snorted and shook her head. "Anyway, hey Scott." she smiled.

"Thank goodness you didn't go in his apartment, then." He chuckled and opened the door wider. "Come in, I was just making the popcorn."

She nodded and stepped inside. "Sounds good to me." she said as she looked around a bit. "Cool place."

"Not as extravagant as your four bed room home," he teased her. "But I do what I can."

She chuckled. "Well apparently you're doing very well."

"Your kind words mean so much." He smirked. "I'll get the popcorn into a bowl, you can pick out a movie."

"Oh okay." she said. "Does it matter the genre?"

"Surprise me." He laughed a little.

"Romance it is." she joked as she went to go pick a movie.

He put the popcorn in a bowl and got them sodas before going out into the living room, sitting everything on the table. "What'd you pick?"

"Well, it's either between Batman Forever or Scream...I can't decide which one I want to watch first."

"Then eeny meeny miney mo." He chuckled and sat down.

"Meh, I'll choose Batman...I crushed on Robin, time to bring it back." she joked as she put the dvd in.

"I don't need to be here for this." He shook his head with a snort.

"I was kidding. Besides, he got old and ugly." she snorted as she went to sit on the couch.

"No, the fact that you'll be lusting after him while sitting next to a guy that is trying to date you is weird." He smirked and ate some popcorn.

"Please, I'm sure if I had picked another movie...you'd be lusting after some girl in it." she chuckled as she ate some popcorn.

"I only have eyes for you." He grinned.

She shook her head in amusement. "Smooth."

"Aren't I?" He smirked and looked over at her, pushing her hair behind her ear. "You look really pretty tonight."

She blushed and smiled a bit. "Thank you." she chuckled.

"Mhm." He chuckled. "So... on a scale of one to Lacy when she doesn't eat, how angry would you be if I kissed you before the movie started?"

She laughed and then thought about it...even though she didn't have to. "I'd say a one, so not angry at all."

"Are you serious?" He smirked. "I don't want to hit me where it hurts..." he started to lean in. "If I actually do kiss you."
