A Year Ago

Lacy sighed heavily as she pulled into the driveway of the home she used to share with Phil. Unfortunately for her, it was the time of the month that the kids went to go see their dad, which meant she had to take them, which meant she had to see him. She had the divorce papers with him that he still refused to sign, and hoped that he would cooperate with her today and just sign them so they could move on.

Wordlessly, she got out and got Brandon and Allison out of the car, carrying Allison in as she held Brandon's hand. She let Brandon ring the doorbell.

"Daddyyy! We hereee!" Brandon called.

Punk was waiting for the kids to arrive, so he was watching tv. Once he heard the doorbell, he went to answer it and heard Brandon. "I'm coming, I'm coming." he chuckled to himself as he opened the door.

As soon as Punk opened the door, Brandon let go of Lacy's hand and leapt towards him. "Daddy!"

Lacy just shifted their bags up over her shoulder and held Ally. She really didn't want to be there.

Punk crouched down and caught Brandon, hugging him and kissed his cheek. "Hey kid." he chuckled. "Missed me?"

"Of course I did." he said as he then looked up to see Ally. "Hello Allison." he said as he stood up and grab her. "Hand her over." he told Lacy.

"Dada!" She giggled as Lacy handed her over to him. Lacy moved to walk past him to put their bags down in the house, taking out the papers as well.

Punk kissed her forehead and then closed the door behind him, bringing her in. "I've missed you too." he told her.

Allison wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug.

"Daddy, we ride bikes?" Brandon asked as he followed him in. "Maybe Mommy can come this time."

"We can ride bikes, but I don't think Mommy can come." he said. "She'll have to wait for another time."

"Yeah, maybe some other time, babe." Lacy said. "Take your sister upstairs, I've got to talk to your father."

"Okay, Mommy." Brandon said as he reached for Ally to take her upstairs.

Lacy gave him a look that showed she was unamused. "You already know what I want," she said as she handed over the divorce papers.
