Father's Day BBQ

Placing the plates on the table outside as Shannon continued to make some food on the grill, Ellie made sure that everything was set for the Father's Day Barbecue. Randy and AJ didn't know about it, so hopefully they would be surprised. The weather was gorgeous out and it was just a perfect day. Wearing a white dress over her bathing suit, Ellie walked over to Shannon, while carrying Madison, who was babbling on about something.

"Thanks so much for helping out Shan."

"No problem, I don't mind." he replied.

Katie got out of the car then picked Kayla up.

"I want daddy to carry me." Kayla said.

"Daddy's injured sweetheart." Katie said.

Jake jumped out of the car with a squirt gun.

"Now Jake don't squirt that thing at anyone except for your dad." Matt said.

Katie rolled her eyes.

"Why did I let you drive with us?" Katie asked.

"Because I'm the best brother a person could ever ask for." Matt said before he walked over to Ellie and Shannon with Katie.

Ellie turned as she had Katie and Matt come from behind.

"Hey guys." she smiled.

"Hey." Matt said with a smile.

"Hey Ellie." Katie said with smile before she hugged her sister.

"Hi." Kayla said with a smile as she waved.

"Hi Kayla." Ellie smiled. "You've gotten so big."

"I know." Kayla said with a giggle.

She shook her head in amusement as Maddie pointed at Kayla.

"Uh huh, that's your cousin Kayla." she told her.

"Layla?"

"No, Kayla."

"Ayla." Madison nodded.

"Whichever works." she chuckled. "Oh, um...there's chips and stuff on the table, so you can all help yourself. Shannon is making the burgers, steaks and chicken."

"Well I better make sure he's doing it right." Matt said as he walked over to Shannon.

"I want to play with Maddie." Kayla said.

"Hm, okay just be careful." she told Kayla. "She still doesn't know how to walk yet." she said, putting Maddie down as she stood.

"Mkay." Kayla said as Katie put her down then she started walking around the yard.

"So how have you been?" Katie asked.

"I'm doing okay now. Things are going great, what about you? I heard about Randy's injury."

"I'm okay. Randy...he has to get surgery in the future, we went to a doctor yesterday." Katie said.

"That sucks." she pouted, keeping an eye on the girls. "Well at least he'll get it fixed and come back better." she shrugged.

Katie nodded.

"Yeah, it just sucks he got injured again. He originally got injured during a basketball game and the I Quit Match made it worse." Katie said.

"He just sucks." Ellie joked.

"My husband doesn't suck." Katie said.

"Does tooooo."

Katie shook her head.

"Nope." Katie said.

"Yes." she giggled.

"Mama!" Madison called out.

"Yes Maddie?" Ellie said looking over at Madison, who started taking her first steps.

"Oh my god! Maddie!" she grinned. "Keep going."

Katie watched with a smile.

"Aww." Katie said.

AJ and Randy had been at the gym to work out and for Randy to ease up on his shoulder a bit. they both took one car and they were arriving back to AJ and Ellie's house. "Huh...there's more cars here..." he said looking at Randy. He didn't really give it much thought as he parked and got out of the car.

Madison continued to walk a little more.

Randy looked around.

"That's weird. Hope she's not having some lame girl's day party." Randy chuckled. "That would suck."

"Well I still got my keys...if we see that, we can just turn around and escape." he reasoned with a laugh as they went inside. "ellie?" he called, looking around. "Huh...her car's here...maybe she's outside..." he said as they started for the backyard.

"Matt where the hell is your camera?!" Katie yelled.

Matt jumped then turned around and pulled his camera out of his pocket.

"Uh...oh." Matt said with a smile when he realized Maddie was taking her first steps so he started taping it.

Randy just shrugged and followed AJ to the backyard.
