More Authority (Callie and Ellie)

Callie laid in her bed smoking another cigarrette as she waited for her aunt to arrive.

Ellie arrived at Matt's house and went upstairs towards Callie's room.

"Callie? Is it alright if I come in?" she asked as she knocked.

"Whatever," Callie spoke as she laid back and turned on her Sixx AM cd.

She stepped inside and saw Callie there, smoking and putting on her cd. She closed the door behind her.

"So how's it going?" she asked, making an effort to be nice to her.

"It'd be easier if Mr. Tightwad would lossen up," Callie said.

She laughed.

"He will. He's just sort of still trying to get his head wrapped around this whole idea of you being his daughter. Give it a bit of time and he'll be good. If not, then do you want me to kick his ass?" she asked with a laugh.

"Sure," Callie said.

"Alright. I'll try my best, can't really do that in my condition though." she giggled as she stepped back a bit.

"Congrats prego," Callie smiled.

She laughed.

"Thanks. I've gotta admit, I wasn't really sure how to react, but I'm happy." she smiled.

"But I should probably step out and let you finish your cigarette, it's not really good for the baby." she chuckled.

Callie put her cigarette out in her ashtray.

"Stay,' she said.

She chuckled.

"Alright. Mind if I sit?"

"Go ahead," Callie smiled.

She sat down and smiled.

"So, how are you doing? You know, with everything?"

"He hates me, I don't want to hate him but he's making me, so yeah," Callie said.

She pouted a bit.

"Aw, he doesn't hate you. Like I've said before, he's just going to take some time to get used to. I mean, if you ask me, it's kind of a shock if I was in his position, so you have to be patient with him. Besides, he has to learn how to deal with a teenager." she shrugged.

Callie could feel tears rising in her big brown eyes.

"No, I've heard him say it, he hates me!" she said as she started to cry.

She grabbed her bag from under the bed and began throwing her things into it.

"I knew this was a mistake, I shouldn't have come here," she said.

Ellie stands up and grabs Callie's wrists lightly, making her sit down on the bed.

She put an arm around her shoulder and hugged her lightly.

"He doesn't hate you. I swear. Even if you heard him say it, he doesn't mean it. He's probably just frustrated about knowing he missed out fifteen years of your life. It's not a mistake that you came here, I'm happy you're here." she smiled at her.

"Really?" Callie asked, wiping her eyes.

"Of course."

"I just don't understand," Callie said.

"When I was younger, I wrote him every month begging him to come see me, but he's says he didn't even know about me."

"Are you sure that you're Mom sent them out?"

"I put them in the mailbox myself," Callie said.

"Hm. To be honest, I never saw him receive any of the letters. I always picked up the mail first. Maybe your Mom took them out and kept them." she suggested.

"Why would she do that?" Callie asked.
