Birthday Getaway

"It happens." She said.

"Well it sucks."

"I know why he's not too crazy about you, though. But that's a conversation that you're going to have to have with him personally."

"Can you tell me?" he asked. "I try talking to him and he never says much. If he wants to actually talk, I'll act like I don't know but it's killing me."

"I can't say anything." she shook her head. "I promised him and it's nothing you'd want to hear anyway."

"Fuck." he muttered. "Now I know I did something. I'll have to talk to him when we get back. I was already planning a guys day out with him."

"Well don't think about that now." she said.

"I guess." he said. "I'll worry about it when we go back home."

"Yeah, do that." she said. "I thought you came here to get away from the stresses of home."

"Yeah, I tend to forget. You're right though." he said. "No more stressing."

"Even though you bought one of those stressors with you." she snorted. "Me."

He shook his head. "You are not a stressor." he said as he leaned over and kissed her cheek.

"I beg to differ, but whatever you say."

"Damn right." he joked. "Well then, I guess we should go to sleep." he nodded.

"If you want."

"Not really." he said. "You know I don't really sleep."

"Then what were you going to do, stare at me sleep?"

"Yep, be a creep for a while and then watch tv or something."

"Like a creep. That's nice."

"I thought so."

"You're so sweet."

"I know." he chuckled.

She nodded. "Well... I guess I should sleep."

"Guess so." he nodded.

"Then I guess good night." She said as she got under the covers.
