Just Relax

Ellie had been home for about two weeks since the miscarriage and Scott definitely noticed a change in her attitude since she'd been home. It's not like she'd been unpleasant or anything like that, but it was obvious that she didn't want to deal with it head on. And he wasn't going to force her to, but he did want her to relax. She'd been doing busy work since she got home, from decorating the house, to being with the kids, to constantly being at the gym, he could see that she was starting to wear herself down. That's why he sent the kids to Punk and Lacy's for the weekend, and Scott's plan was to cater to her for the weekend, so she could just sit down and relax. He was just putting the finishing touches on dinner and he knew that Ellie would be home any moment.

Ellie was coming home from the gym. She'll admit, she was choosing not to speak about the miscarriage, so she kept herself busy to distract herself from it and maybe try to move on in a way. She had been going around like crazy, getting gifts for the holidays, decorating, going to the gym, helping the kids with whatever they needed and so on. She unlocked the front door and stepped inside. "It's me." she said as she walked in.

He heard her and went to greet her. Of course, he had his "kiss the cook" apron on, lol. "Hey, babe." he greeted her with a quick kiss. Go shower and get into some comfortable clothes, I made dinner."

She was amused by the apron after she returned his kiss and nodded. "Okay." she chuckled. "I shall return."

He watched her leave and went to go make sure everything was ready and not burnt, lol.

She showered and then when she was done, she dried off her body and her hair, then changed into a pair of pajama shorts and a simple shirt. When she was all dressed, she went back downstairs. "You didn't burn anything, right?" she teased.

"Yeah, just the food on your plate." he joked as he got done setting the plates down on the table. He took off the apron and went over to her, wrapping his arms around her. "And how are we today?"

"I'm perfectly fine." she said. "How are you?"

"Dog tired, being a woman is hard work." he joked.

"Now you feel my pain." she chuckled as she patted his cheek lightly. "Next time, you should try to wear heels." she joked.

"I tried to but you have small feet." he joked. "So for dinner I made spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread. Hope that's okay." he said, kissing the tip of her nose.

"That's perfect." she nodded.

"Good." he let her go and led her to the table, pulling out her chair for her.

"Thank you kind sir." she said as she sat down in her seat.

"No problem." he said as he pushed her seat in gently and went to go sit across from her. "So tell me about your day."

"Hm...well I bought some Christmas gifts for Lacy's kids and then I went to the gym." she shrugged. "Not much excitement there."

"You should probably ease up on the gym, El."

"Why?"

"I just don't want you wearing yourself out, y'know?" He said. "I worry about you."

She nodded. "I am fine, I promise...but I will calm it down because I don't want you to worry and after going everyday, it does take a toll on me."

"Good." He nodded. "Now eat up, I worked hard on this," he joked.

"You must have spent all day on it." she chuckled as she started to eat. "Hm, it's very good."

"Good." He nodded. "I was afraid you wouldn't like it." he chuckled a little.

"Nonsense." she chuckled. "Maybe I'll even have a second plate. We'll see."

"don't give yourself a bellyache now." he smirked.
