In the Present

The past couple of years have been quite a blur for Ellie, Colt and their family.

Colt was traveling the world, wrestling and even acting as often as he could. Since starting his school with Punk in Chicago and making a few TV appearances, promoters wanted him booked at their shows and well, money was money. Ellie had gotten used to it over time. It was hard in the beginning when he was away for days, weeks and even months at a time but she understood. Plus, he was one of the most popular wrestlers right now. She wasn't going to tell him to stay home, lol. They still made sure to talk to each other every day and when he was home, she was glad he would spend whatever time he had with them. He made sure to call every night as well, even if it was a short call just to check-in.

The kids had grown up slightly (not too much because we don't want them to be so grown ) and were a little less hyper. Well, Maddie and Ajay anyway. They were still their cute little selves though. Sophia was currently going through her toddler stage and she had her good days and her bad days. Ellie was just glad her temper tantrums weren't so bad.

As for Ellie, as much as she loved the wrestling business she made the decision to step away from it even more. For a while she worked at Punk and Colt's school, handing more of the office work and bookings for their shows but she needed more stability. Ellie ended up taking a completely different route and became licensed/certified to become a physical therapist's assistant; which was better for her. It was everything she was looking for and allowed her to be home with the kids after school, instead of having them in daycare or an after school program for hours, plus she could spend time with Marcia and help her with any errands that needed to be done. Marcia was doing well since her stroke a few years ago but still needed PT every now and then, another reason why Ellie became an assistant as she learned a lot taking Marcia to appointments. Ellie wanted to be there for her as much as she could. Along with the kids, work and Marcia, she still did signings and small appearances if they wanted her but let's be real, she wasn't that popular as a wrestler, lol. Being that she had the Hardy last name and was Colt's wife, it was why people would ask her to do meet and greets. That was more occasional than anything. Whenever Punk had a show at his school, she would help with tickets and whatever else he needed but other than that; that was it. Overall, a more "normal" life was what she decided was best.

After a long day, Ellie was able to get the kids settled and into bed. After that, she headed to the living room to clean up some toys Sophia left around, putting them in her toy bin. She then took a shower and headed back downstairs so she could eat and relax for the rest of the night. Letting out a sigh, she made it to the kitchen and warmed up some leftovers she had, then poured herself a glass of wine. She had a long day and was just tired, wanting nothing more than to eat dinner and relax on the couch. Being that Colt was away, they made sure to talk throughout the day when he wasn’t busy but she didn’t hear much from him today. Hopefully he would give her a call soon, while she was still up. She was just thankful it was finally the weekend.

Finishing her dinner, Ellie started to wash the dishes and clean up. As she was putting leftovers away, she heard Tigger scratching the back door, meaning he wanted to go out. She opened the door to let him out in the backyard and handle his business. While he did that, she finished up in the kitchen and turned off the lights before calling him back in. He came in and went to his dog bed while she locked up the door. She pet his head and wished him good night as well as he laid put his head down to relax for the rest of the night.

Now she could FINALLY plop herself on the couch and watch some TV as she waited for Colt's nightly check-in call. She let out a yawn and looked at the time seeing that it was 11PM. It was a little later than usual but again, she was used to some calls being late or even super early sometimes due to time difference as well. Ellie was usually good at staying awake and even though she felt sleepy, she was going to make sure she didn't miss his call. Hopefully.
