Awkward

"You're not." he said. "I'm going to wait out here....not gonna go in because we know how that worked out last time."

"I just..." she sighed and opened up the door, wiping some tears away. "Why would she do that? I didn't cheat Phil. I didn't," she exclaimed hysterically. That's the kind of reaction Lynn got out of her.

"Hey, hey, calm down." he said as he pulled her in to hold her and kissed the top of her head. "I know you didn't. She just wants to find ways for me to leave you, but that's not going to happen. That woman is delusional."

"I hate her," she muttered into his chest, still crying. "She doesn't want me to be happy and I don't even know why."

He shrugged. "I don't know either...but you don't need her approval. If you're happy, then so be it. Don't let her bring you down."

She shook her head. "It's not that easy. You don't get it. Her approval used to mean everything to me, why do you think I stayed with Nathan for so long? If she would have told me to leave you when we first got together, I would have. It was only after a few months with you that I felt comfortable enough to let go but she's just always in my fucking ear. She was *happy* when I told her I miscarried our first baby. You know how mad she was when she found out I was keeping Brandon. You don't even want to know what she said when she found out about me being pregnant with Allison. It's like... She hates me now that I'm with you." Her voice was strained and she was trying not to cry again. "I'm so tired of feeling like she's my number one enemy and not my actual mother." That was when she started to cry again.

He sighed as he ran his hands up and down her back. "I feel like this is all my fault. If I wasn't in the picture, then you wouldn't be like this with your mother. At the same time though, you would have been miserable with Nathan if you stayed with him."

"I just... I don't know." She sighed. "Maybe I'm just fucking crazy, wanting her approval when she's obviously a cruel bitch. And the sad thing about it is, she's probably out there eating right now and I'm gonna go out there and cover the bill because that's what she wants from me."

"Well don't. We'll pay for our stuff, let her pay for her own food. She doesn't deserve anything from you."

"I guess." She shrugged indifferently.

"Um, excuse me." A voice cut in, quite rudely. "You are you at least going to apologize to me?"

Lacy rolled her eyes and looked over at the pest, Karla. "For what," she asked boredly.

"Quite obviously for pushing all of your drinks on me, you RUINED my work uniform! You're just... you're just a cunt," she spat rudely. "A rude bitch. Come into MY restaurant, give me dirty looks and then you pull something like that."

Lacy pushed herself away from Phil. "What did you just call me?"

Phil rolled his eyes and pulled Lacy back. "Karla, the only cunt here is you. She doesn't have to apologize. Go work or whatever, you're annoying the shit out of me. You're like some stalker and it's creepy."

"I'm a stalker? You came to where I work, Phil. I didn't come to you. Secretly, you still want me. You still love me." Karla grinned.

Lacy rolled her eyes and stepped away from Phil. "How many times do I have to kick your ass before you get the hint that you need to stay away from him?" She asked as she got into her face.

"Ignore her Lacy, let it go." he sighed.

"No Phil, I can't let it go. I can't let anything go because I'm not in the mood for anyone's bullshit anymore."

"Watch your mouth, woman." Karla shoved her by the shoulder lightly. "And get out of my face."

"HEY. Don't fucking touch my wife." he told Karla.

"Don't yell at me." Karla looked at him.

"I can do whatever the hell I want."

"And if I push her again?" Karla rose a defiant brow.

"I'm pretty sure I can get you fired."

"You don't have any grounds to get me fired. She technically assaulted me first with the drinks, so I can..." hard shove to Lacy, "Defend myself. So get mad, Punk. Turns me o-- ACK."

Lacy let go of the first shove because she wanted to spare Karla's life, but she shoved her again and she was getting on her fucking nerves. Before she could even register what happened... she her hands wrapped tightly around her throat, pushing her back towards the wall. She ignored Karla's cries of help and pain and was screaming at her that she couldn't even understand. The bar was loud, so it's not like anyone in the eating area could hear her. Lacy had pretty much snapped.

That all happened so quick, that Punk didn't know how to react at first. Then he came to his senses and tried to pull Lacy away. "Lacy, let go. She's not worth it."

"I fucking hate her," she yelled as she struggled against, still holding on to Karla's neck.

"Let... go...," Karla coughed, beating against Lacy's hands in a futile effort to get her to release her tight grip. Her face was turning red, fast.

Phil tried with all his might to remove Lacy's hands from Karla's throat. "Lacy, knock it the fuck off."

"I told you I was gonna end up in jail tonight, Phil, I TOLD you. I'm gonna kill her, I swear I am!" She continued to squeeze around Karla's throat before Phil finally pried her hands from her throat, and even then she continued to struggle against him. "Let me go, let me go!"

Karla had felt herself becoming light handed before she had felt Lacy let go, inhaling deeply and sinking to the ground, feeling weak. "What... the fuck?!" she panted, sputtering and coughing.

He just held onto Lacy tightly even as she struggled against him. "What is wrong with you?" he asked. He had never seen her like this before.
