A Heart Wrenching Decision (Maria and Batista)

Maria was on her way to meet Dave when suddenly out of nowhere, she got a phone call from Dal. She hadn't from him in weeks and she was shocked he still even had her number.

"Hello?" she asked confused.

"Maria...meet me. Now." he snapped into the phone.

"Excuse me? Dal, we broke up. You have no right to talk to me like that. I'm hanging up." she said as she started to press the end button on her phone.

"Oh so I guess I can find Dave and show him your dirty secret."

"What are you talking about?"

"I knew you were shameful doing Playboy and everything...but I found something much worse, Maria...dare I say...pornographic...I didn't know you would go so low."

"What? But...I didn't-"

"I have the pictures...so if you don't want these pictures leaked or dare I say sent to your new boyfriend, you'll listen to me."

"Then...what do you want me to do?"

"Leave him...you hurt me when you left me...me and my daughter...it's only fair you get hurt too...and it's always a plus if the jerk that took you away from me gets hurt too." he said with a chuckle.

"If I break up with him...you won't tell him or talk to him, right?" she asked, starting to panic.

"As long as you do that...then everything should be fine." he said in a more peaceful tone.

"Fine...just...fine." she said, trying to keep it together. The only way Dave wouldn't try to hold on to her is if...she deliberately hurt him and pushed him away. It was going to kill her but she wouldn't be able to take it if Dave saw those pictures...or if her young fans saw them. Being a WWE Diva, she was a role model for young girls. She couldn't risk those pictures being shown.

She drove to Dave's hotel and took a deep breath as she knocked on his door. She knew it was going to be one of the toughest things she'd ever done...she was really falling for Dave but...she had to do it. Apparantly Dal hadn't taken to her cheating on him as well as she thought.

"Come on Dave...open the door..." she said, trying to keep her composure.

"Just a second." Dave pulled an Affliction t-shirt over his head and went to answer the door. "Hey Baby." He beamed at her. "Come on in." He stepped aside so she could entered, before bending down to kiss her in greeting.

Just seeing him so happy made this even harder. When he leaned in to kiss her, she just moved past him into the room. She took a deep breath and stood in the room. "Look, Dave...ummm..." she said, blinking back her tears. She wasn't so sure she could do this.

"you and me...this just...it's not working anymore." she said, trying to stay strong when all she really wanted to was to run into his arms and let him hold her.

Dave's expression fell into blank confusion. "Wait...what?"

"What, you don't understand plain English?" she spat, though it hurt her to say every word.

"I don't want to be with you anymore." she said, her breathing starting to hitch. She was starting to lose her composure. Her heart was breaking.

Dave took a step backwards, repelled from the words she was saying. "What are you talking about? Since when? Maria, you're the best part of my life."

She bit her lower lip, a few tears managing to escape and she wiped at them furiously. "Well...I'm just not satisfied, Dave...I just....I'm sick of you and your love sick puppy dog face!" she spat, doing her damndest to keep from crying now.

Dave cringed, looking away from her. "Then go." He choked out. "If I make you so unhappy then leave. I promise, I won't contact you. I won't come after you. If being away from me makes you happy, I won't stand in your way."

(poor Dave! *cuddles him* I still love you! It's okay!)

Hearing how hurt he was...was killing her...she could feel her heart fully break and shatter. She couldn't even look at him as she moved past him and out the door, but she couldn't make it any further.

Once outside the door, she collapsed into sobs. She then reached for her phone, thinking Dave wasn't able to hear her and she called Dal.

"Why hello, Maria...did you get it done?"

"Yeah, you sick jerk! Because of you I had to hurt the man I love! I hope you're happy! Because you broke my heart!" she sobbed.

"Now you know how it feels...though I wish I could have been there to see it..."

"You leave him alone! I hate you!" she sobbed before hanging up and crying freely in the hallway on her knees outside of Dave's room. She didn't care if people could see her. Why did it matter anymore? She just lost the most important person in her life.

The moment the door slammed shut behind her, the remaining vestiges of Dave's heart shattered into a million pieces. He began to gasp for air, fighting his own tears as he stumbled towards his bed, lowering himself down.

What did it matter anymore? Without Maria, what did any of it matter?

She struggled to her feet and looked at the door again. She was fighting so hard to not knock on the door and run inside and beg him to take her back and she would have given anything to take back what she said.

She hated herself for hurting him so badly and being so weak. At this point, if she were to get hit by a car, she wouldn't care...she just ruined the best thing in her life.

Dave stared blankly in front of him, his chest heaving with silent sobs while his whole world fell apart.

(I don't know, but I want to hug my poor sad Dave right now lol It makes me sad )

Maria trudged to the elevator to leave. She just wanted to curl up into a ball and die.

[[hmmm...it depends...if we wanted to add to the drama lol...maybe if Dave's window faced the street, we don't have to make it a serious accident, but what if Maria did get hit?

or if we wanted the less serious route, but still sad...they could run into each other somewhere...and then BAM! they can't keep their hands off each other lol I just watched "the Notebook" so that's where that idea came about...]]

Dave buried his face in his hands, unable to really breathe.

(I'm kind of digging the Notebook inspiration lol. It's cute and then kind of sexy lol. Hospitals aren't so sexy haha)

She headed out to her car and started driving.

Dave lay back on the bed and gave into heartache.

As soon as Maria parked on the street, she gave in and started to cry again.
