They led her over to the ambulance, where they had the gurney set up for Lacy.

He gently put Lacy on the gurney and stayed with her.

"What about the car?" Lacy asked tiredly.

"Don't worry about it." he told her.

She sniffled and nodded, reaching for his hand. "I was so scared.."

"I know, but I'm here now and I'm not going to let anything happen to you." he told her as he held her hand and kissed the back of it.

She used her free hand to grab the back of her head. "I guess I knocked my head pretty hard out there."

"I'm dizzy," she said as she frowned, trying to keep her eyes open.

"We're almost at the hospital. Just stay awake for as long as you can."

"I'll try. I thought you were never going to find me."

"I wasn't going to stop." he told her. "I've been looking all this time."

"I just.. want to go home." She sniffled.

"And we will." he told her. "We just have to get you checked out."

"He just wouldn't stop." she shook her head lightly as her eyes welled up with tears again.

"Shhhh." he told her as he stroked the top of her head. "Try not to think about it right now."

"I can't." She cried, though she relaxed a little at him stroking her head.

"Try." he told her. "I need you to relax before we get to the hospital." he said as he kissed her forehead gently and continued to stroke her head.

She held his hand tightly as she worked on calming down. They got to the hospital shortly after that and they had to leave Phil behind.

She was silent as they pulled her away.

A few hours later, the doctor came out and called for Phil.
